Nephilim after a few weeks

So there have been about 3 weekends off tournaments mostly using nephilim and things look pretty good.
Harlequins are still a little bit of a problem with a winrate slightly above 60% and a twip ratio of 2.37, on the plus side they are the least represented of the top 4.

Tyranids are in a much healthier place for non tyranid players but not in the gutter like admech. 54% WR and twip ratio of 1.74.

The meta is probably still developing with CSM still pretty new but I have to say it looks like GW did a good job.

Do you have a link to the faction stats? I don't think I saw GSC or custodes (or tau?) in the top slots recently.

Necrons seem to have had a good revival, so that's nice!

goonhammer/40kstats. I think there was one or two custodes lists but yeah they probably did take too much of a hit. I don't think gsc featured either and they probably could have taken s little buff. Tau have had a few top 4s and a win I think. It's not perfect but it's a lot better than it has been for a while.

Nephilim after a few games:

The balance is good, Tyranids are still strong but not as powerful as before which is a healthy and welcome state. What disgusts me most is the huge discrepancy in Secondaries. C'mon look at some armies like Necrons or Sororitas or even GKs and compare those Secondary Objs to Nids. They all have "take a (please do not swear) on an objective and score" bullsht while we got one semi-decent Cranial. Worst thing is that it doesn't force them to push up the field, that are quite content on letting primary down as they can so easily make up the points by crapping on two closest objectives. It's... distasteful. Yes, making them pay for their cowardice by assaulting them is a pleasure but we are at the try-hard end of the balance. Is that good? I think yes. It makes us use our brains and courage. Is that fair? Not so much as we simply cannot choose to play defensively, we have to charge and this is another way Nids are forced to play in a certain way narrowing the choices and tactics. Which is always sad.

Yea, Nephilim is in a decent place minus a few factions having 3 great faction secondaries. Action secondaries should be easy to start the action or end in your next command phase. These easy start and end at EoT secondaries have always been problematic for balance (OG teleport homers for example).

I’m not so much bothered by different armies being steered towards a certain play style - in fact I think that’s actually to be encouraged as otherwise it’s a case of the models just looking different, but that said I agree the issue is in the equity of it - I don’t mind so much castle themed forces having defensively minded secondaries, it’s just rubbish when more attacking minded forces have ones which are objectively harder to achieve. Necrons are a clear outlier - I think some of the nid ones could be just about there with a bit of tweaking - eg make the Killy one not have to be done by a synapse creature, but within a certain range of a synapse creature

Don’t even get me started on how wrong it was that nephilim took away one of the best adaptive/fluff consistent rules for tyranids with the pre game adaptation choice change….
