Returning Player, 2k Levi attempt at competitive

So i am coming back after playing in early 8th and missed the pre-faq tyranids. Sad for me it seems as it sounds like they were tad op. I am aiming to get back in and start with a more competitive minded list so i can focus on my own errors instead of my errors + a bad list. This is what i came up with and if i am missing something or if there is a more "default" comp list, please say something.

It's a solid list to start off with. It's close to what is 'default' before the Nephilim update. I think we're still trying to sort out the best way to play with the new secondaries being more limiting for us.

Yea, i took what seemed good and what others were using to make this, so inspiration certainly on the pre nephalim side of things and then removed to make fit. Good to know I'm not drastically off mark.

I know this conversation came up in another thread. First thought was that because the tfex had to push forward, so he was far more in danger and so would need the 4++ more and the exocrine can pie slice and still target the heavy infantry and needed the mw to ensure a unit kill while still being safer behind terrain. I assume that is not the case?

The opposite is usually more true. Exo mostly goes into 3W models, the MWs usually leave a wounded model instead of a dead one. Tfex on the other hand, can use the MWs a little better into 1W or 3W models. Bonus for Tfex auto hits in Overwatch, so gets the MWs guaranteed.

4++ on Tfex is better suited for use with Territorial Instincts. That lets the Tfex threaten Objectives just by being alive, making the 4++ contribute directly to scoring.
