Hormagaunts [8 PL, 104pts]
. 13x Hormagaunt: 13x Hormagaunt Talons
++ Total: [96 PL, 1CP, 1,999pts] ++
On all the lists we will keep the Reaper flyrant.
In this one we have Swarmlord and we start on 2 CPs, so if we go first the Reaper Flyrant will have his magic number of CPs (3) to do wonders even on the first turn.
Or maybe being able to absorb a huge alpha strike by using on the opponent's T1 both the -1D on the warriors and indomitable monstrosity on a monster (mostly the Harpy in case is targeted).
And the Swarmlord will provide obsec in case needed, as Leviathan kinda struggles with obsec if we don't spam Warrior units.
Let's say that this version is a bit more tactical.
On the second instead of the Swarmlord we have a 2nd Flyrant with maw claws of thyrax.
We start only on 1 CP, but still many opponent's cannot deal with 2 flyrants.
The extra mobility and the fact that the 2nd flyrant hits more or less as hard as the Swarmlord but he does not care much about the terrain as he has fly.
Let's say that this version is a bit more violent and aggressive because the 2nd Flyrant.
On the last one we have a walk rant with a Shardgullet.
We still start on 1 CP, and the Shardgullet is a decent firing platform and in some games might be good.
I am not even considering not taking a relic on the 2nd tyrant, because instead a Walkrant with a normal HVC to save 1 CP, I'd just go for a Swarmlord.
Anyway I don't think the Shardgullet will have the same impact in a game, compared to the strategic use a Swarmlord brings or the extra violence a 2nd Flyrant bringd.
So far my favourites are the first 2 and I am quite used to play 2 flyrants and I am happy about their performance, but in case I'll post the third option that might be improved and might have something I didn't see.
And then we can also discuss about how maximising the few last points, between Voracious Ammunitions on the Exocrine, few more Hormagaunts or maybe some equipment somewhere.
But what do you guys think about it?
Please let me know and help me refine the list.
