So I love Cult of the Four Armed Emperor. I don't think they are inatelly the strongest cult but I do think they are viable if you play to there strengths. I recently went to an RT and lost all three games. 0-3. I lost to Craftworld Eldar, Blood Angels and Salamanders. But every game I felt like I could have won if I played it a little better and all games were close. My goal is to win with Cult of the Four Armed Emperor because they are my favorite, I painted my army in that color scheme and I am stubborn. my list looked like
patriarch - prowling agitant
magus - unwilling orb
acolyte banner -alien majesty
Jackel Alphus -cunning (-1 cp to Strats once per turn)
5- acolytes (lying in wait)
5- acolytes with flamers
5- acolytes with flamers
5- acolytes (plain)
5- acolytes (plain)
10 neophytes
10 neophytes
kelermorph (perfect ambush and wyrmtooth rounds)
10 Genestealers (they came from below)
10 genestearlsrs (trap sprung)
10 genestealers (our time is nigh)
5 metamorphs with flamers
4 jackets with demo charges
4 jackals with demo charges
4 jackals with demo charges
achilles Ridgerunner with misses and spotter
Goliath rockgringer
goliath rockgrinder
goliath rockgrinder
the Genestealers did good for me but I think I want drop 2 squads (keep the came from below squad) and run more acolytes with heavy weapons. the Rockgrinders did work but there is so much anti tank in my meta they die really quick. I am thinking instead of running a brigade run two batallions and bring more acolytes and spread out my infantry to get points and be all over the board. I played the games against Eldar too cagey, missed a crucial charge against the blood angels and got steam rolled and had a really close game against the Salamanders. I think I could have won the game vs the Salamanders if I used the Strat (plan generation in the making) on the Salamanders +1 to save against 1 damage weapons instead of the transhumance because he used that Strat every turn (sometimes more than once) and it may have won him the game on that. plus I tried a long 9 inch charge instead of doing RND and failed. The list did well in all games but I need to learn how to play it better but I am thinking about dropping 2 squads of Genestealers and all the Rockgrinders for some infantry with OPSEC and heavy weapons. also I was gonna go 2 battalions and go double patriarch and drop the Magos; drop the Jackal Alphus and bring a Primus.
The Jackals are awesome, and I love that one Ridgerunner in the far back with the long range spotter getting me chip damage and crossfire at 42 inches. Prowling aggitant on the Patriarch was great. and the Unwilling Orb was clutch in every game that had a psyker.
Has anyone had success running cult of the Four Armed Emperor and how did you do it?
