Ripper Swarm Question.

Hi.

Just a quick question about Ripper Swarms.

Do they provide Look Out Sir, and can they claim Objective’s, like other units, as I can’t find the rules for Swarms anywhere in the Rulebook.

Please help.

They do everything they used to except for two things

1. They arent troops so they don't have Obsec anymore

2. They have a rule stating they cannot be apart of the compulsory requirements of a FOC

Additionally, as swarms they might not be able to perform certain actions. I can't recall all the limitations.

Thanks, I’ve not used Swarms for a long long time, so couldn’t remember what their restrictions were.

I wish they still served a purpose.
losing both obsec AND the ability to count toward FOC requirements while keeping their points so high without them being a real threat at all just removed almost everything you would want to use them for. They can still pop up on an undefended objective and complete SOME actions but that is about it, and they aren't cheap enough to make just that worth it. Better to take a unit that can feasibly do something more AND do those things.

This is correct. They just don't really do anything. At all. I mean, they take up space. I have 45 bases of them. They are bench warmers now.

With stranglehold gone in Nephilim, they may hold a place as supplemental units for scoring engage/behind enemy lines. Throw-away units for scoring has always been a decent strategy when Nids were not good at stranglehold.
