Need help optimising 1000pts list and picking a Hive Fleet.

The title basically says it all. I’m very new to Nids and I already bought some stuff that I will list below.
-Hive Tyrant(I can play him as a Swarmlord too)
-36 Termagants(I could play some as Hormagaunts although I prefer Termagants)
-3 Tyranid Warriors
-Tyrannofex(could play him as a Tervigon but I would prefer the shooting)
-Parasite of Mortrex
I would love to hear your guys advice on what to put in a 1000pts list and what hive fleet to choose. I feel like Kronos would be nice for more range on the only 18” Termagants but I’m not sure here. I’m also planning on buying a Carnifex Brood next as I think they just look great both in melee and in shooting.

With so little, you pretty much need everything to make a 1000pt list. Jorm looks like it grants the most benefits to an army consisting of what you have. Id suggest the following list as Jorm with what you have, taking Territorial as the adaptive most games:

Walkrant w/ HVC, LW, MBS, AG, WL, choice relic/wlt
22x Terms
10x Terms
3x Warriors w/ DBS, DS
PoM w/ choice wlt/relic
Tyrannofex w/ Voracious
2x Carnifex w/ 2x CST, HVC, ES




Edit: playing with the Tfex as a Tervigon would give better synergy to running a big block of gants though, and they won’t be easy to kill at 1000 pts.

For this unit composition I’d go with Levi, Jorm or Kronos.
Levi will give rerolls to your heavy guns - Tyrant’s and Carnifexes’ HVCs. For a 1k army a difference between one or two more HVC shots connecting can be huge. Your Warriors will also be more durable against str 6+ attacks.
Jorm will give Dense to your army - with this many smaller bugs you will be much more difficult to being shot off the table. Best trick in Jorm is the Burry strat though. For a mere 1 CP you can deepstrike anything. Anything meaning Acid-Tyrranofex. Does placing a huge, ObSec monster with juicy overwatch on a objective sound good? (Hint: yes it does).
Kronos is the least enticing but still good. Fleshborers going from 18 to 22 inches doesnt sound like a lot but it is significant. Acidfex going to ap-4 at 11” can be really devastating against AoC. With this many Fleshborers, Symbiostorm power can be really good - against T3, T5 and T6 it matters quite a lot.
As for which units to invest into - today I would say Warriors. But it is quite possible they will get a price hike - hopefully GW will not go full-banzai on them so they become unplayable. Next in line are Zoanthropes. Their psychic output is surprisingly good and their SI is simply the best one around. Venomthropes are also all-around fantastic.
If you like more dakka go for Warriors, Exo, Pyrovores (likely to get a points increase) or Carnifexes. If you want more choppa then go for Carnifexes (perhaps ScramerKillers but imo HVC with Scytals or claws are still better all-around), Raveners (also possible points hike), Horms or a Flyrant.

I’ll play my Tfex as an Exocrine cause I think his Strength and Damage per Shot is better against those tuff guys. And my Parasite will become the Deathleaper because the parasites have no effect on vehicles. I also dropped a couple of Gants to give the Carnifexes 3+ BS. My strategy is to deepstrike both the carnifexes and the Exo to keep him busy while some of the Gants and the Tyrant can start moving. The last game was kind of close if you consider killing everyone except the 28wounds warlord as "close".
