Flyrant and reaper combo still a good shout?

I know its a popular set up. But with the change to “encircle the prey” stratagem making a huge difference to flyrant play style I’m genuinely interested if people are still planning to combo the flyrants with reaper or looking at other options? Has anyone played a game with this since the faq dropped?

On paper a prime with the reaper and AG, while slower, costs significantly less, more consistently benefits from look out sir and still hits pretty hard at 2+ to hit and str 8.

Personally, until now I’ve been running double patrols for my 2k battles with a shardgullet walkrant and a reaper flyrant as the main HQs, but I feel the CC specific reaper flyrant may have lost a chunk of its utility?

He still has plenty of utility. The loss of encircle just means you have to put more thought into how you engage with your flyrant. You can’t blindly throw him into things and expect to use encircle to save him anymore.

We still have our overrun strat into tyrant guard, so there are ways to keep him save if needs be.

Reaper Tyrant was in every single Top Nid list last weekend, so still very good even with Encircle. Just have to play a little more cagey.
