Upgrading my fleet

I currently have a combat patrol box, which is roughly 500 point list. I'm looking at increasing my fleet to 1k, anyone have suggestions as to what I'd need for 1k games? I was thinking a squad of zoanthropes would be good, but unsure of where to go from there. I'm running them typically as Kronos, Jormungundr, or Gorgon if that helps any. I don't plan on running leviathan which seems to be pretty popular right now. I kinda wanna stick to those 3 fleet styles.

Are you building for today or for the long run (multiple balance updates and editions)? If you're building for longevity, get whatever looks cool!

If you're getting a zoanthrope box, I'd strongly recommend getting a box or two of gargoyles. With some kitbashing of gargoyle tails and greenstuff you can get 1 neurothrope, 3 zoans, and 3 venomthropes.

I'd also say that warriors are really strong right now so picking up more is a good idea.

Also, look for second hand deals. Oftentimes, there's someone who is looking to sell their army at a severe discount. If you're looking to bulk up your collection, try asking around at local game stores.

Zoanthropes are good for any fleet. Exorcrine is a great monster to provide shooting for any fleet too.

I would get a box of the two carnifexes. With magnets you can tailor their loadouts (shooty, close combat or mix of both) to match any one of the three fleets you like.

I'll see about posting some pictures. I might have some lurking around from my prior kitbashes.

A friend asked for similar kitbashes (biovores/pyrovores instead of venoms) so I'll take some pictures as I make the new ones as well. I'll try to remember to tag you when I post the pictures!

What size magnets would be necessary for carnifexes?

I think I used 3/16" diameter by 1/8" thick for mine.

And with a bit more kitbashing, leftover gargoyle wings can be used to create your own Parasites, rather than having to pay €30 a pop for the new model. Which, while not awful, I don't consider to be as awesome as, say, the Haruspex or the Toxicrenes.
