First turn additional move

With the adaptation that allows our Endless Multitude units to move 6" 'before the first turn'...

Is that choice to do that done before we roll for who goes first or after we know who will be taking the first turn?

Do you guys think it's worth an adaptation ability? When 50% of the time it won't be of any use?

If so how would you use it? Only for alpha strikes or is it worth it to get the possibility of early access to objectives on the opponents half?

You choose it after you know who goes first, so its never a problem if its not a usable ability, you just dont choose it.

HYPER-ADAPTATIONS
Each Hive Fleet Adaptation also has an Adaptive element to it, which can be swapped out for another rule at the start of the battle, after determining who has the first turn.

When you would use it is a litte situation dependent. Obviously when you add in the 10" move for Horms that's a much easier charge to get off with multiple units, even easier if you pop the Tervigon's Surging Vitality for +2". In most deployment maps there is 24" between deployment zones. Getting an extra 6" closer when you have a move of 10" or 12" is big deal.

Combo this with the Bounding Advance and Shard Lure Stratagems, and Onslaught, you stand an absurdely strong chance of getting two Hormagaunt units to make T1 charges, and a 3rd anything you want that's fast T1 charge. Add in units that are natively extremely fast like the Parasite (16") and a Flyrant (16", 17" w/ AG) and thats 5 T1 charges you can throw at the enemy.

Jeezez, I just realized with The Passenger as your relic, and AG, with the Tervigon's SV you can have a 19" move Flyrant that adds +2" to it's charge rolls, which you can further stack the deck by using Shard Lure to get 3D6 drop the lowest on that charge for an AVERAGE 10"/11" charge (average on 3d6 drop low is 8.5 +2" from Passenger).

I'm getting off topic lol.

If you aren't using Synaptic Goading to get into charge range you can also use it to position Terms/Gargs right on the edge of you deployment zone and then use the 6" pre-turn move to get them into terrain in No Man's Land. This is a great way to get some forward movement towards Objectives without getting immediately shot to pieces.

dont forget about t1 drop pods with a lictor/deathleaper for +2 charge if they make it in.
