Overwhelmed with choice, what should I get next?

I've finished painting everything I own and I'm looking for the next step. I won't be playing super competitively but in-light of the new codex I'm curious as to what the hive mind thinks is a good next step. I haven't got the chance to play much but I'd still like to have models to paint.

I currently own:

Walking Hive Tyrant
Tervigon
Broodlord

10 Flesh borer Gants
24 Devourer Gants
13 Hormagaunts
10 Gargoyles

3 Zoanthropes

5 Rippers
7 Spore Mines

Melee Carnifex
Scythed Hierodule

Harridan

The forge world pieces I mostly got for the fun of painting the models but I'd love to use them in games too. In-terms of army functionality what do you think would make good additions? I quite like Carnifexes and the fliers but maybe I should get warriors to add more synapse? Or maybe I should get more Hive Tyrants or Gaunts?

My money would go on adding at least 3x Warriors + 1 Model for the Prime.
Also, one more Carnifex wouldn't hurt.

You’re at the point where you need to decide which direction you want to take your army. You need to ask yourself, “do I like playing the big bugs or do I like the small bugs?”

If you like the big bugs then you’ll want to focus on carnifex, exocrines, tryannofex, and warriors. You have enough small guys to fill out your troops, now just ho hog wild on the big boys.

If you want to play small bugs then the answer is always more gaunts.

Given that you like to paint I’d go with the big bugs. Warriors and carnifex are some of the most improved units in the new codex and they are also fantastic models that paint up well.

Definately Warriors. They are the new black for the points (until they inevitably get more expensive). They will provide the very much needed synapse for your little guys and can dish out serious damage in both shooting and melee. Venomthropes are a close second for me to round up the core of the army. If you really want to capitalise on the Tervigon play 20 of the devilgants as fleshborer gants for a 30 strong regenerating screen (although many ppl will tell you termies are not good this edition). For giggles (and synapse providing) factor wait for the Parasite - this guy should be tons of fun.

Hi all, thank you so much for the replies!

After seeing the sentiment I'm picking up 2 boxes of warriors next. I actually have some old forgeworld shrike wings I picked up from Ebay sitting unused in my bitz box, so I might take advantage of those. I know Shrikes aren't a thing any more but they'll make for unique looking warriors. They'll look right at home next to the new parasite when that comes out!

As an army utility thing I'd suggest rounding off all of your troops - 30 of each gant variant (30 Fleshborers, 30 Devs, 30 Horms, 30 Gargs).

2 boxes of Warriors is great - 1x Prime and 1x5 Warriors is a great sit.

The new CP box is good value for u IMO as are the older boxes with Gargs in them. The extra Tyrant for SL or a Flyrant looks good.

-IF- you can get ahold of the Apoc box from 2 years ago, that thing will provide some solid value and round out your MC requirement.

You can't go wrong with warriors, sound choice. I get that you've made the purchase already but would also mention the Flyrant as worthy of conisderation down the line; just a great model that plays great on the table, very flexible.

I really hope Warriors won't become more expensive. If anything Gaunts and Gargoyles need to be cheaper.

If you want more gaunts, wait for the patrol box to drop. You should be able to get a better deal that way.
