Kronos - a hidden jewel?

At first glance Kronos is very anty-psyker orientated and thus quite situational. +4 range and Symbiostorm is all there is. But when you take a closer look a whole new world of possibilities opens up. The extra AP at half range seems dumb at first but then you start to see the options.

S5 ap-2 Fleshborer at 11”? Isn’t it perfect for Terms deepstriking with a Trygon Prime?
Raveners and Warriors with -3 ap Deathspitters at 14”
Haruspex with a 16” shot ignoring look out sir? Yes, sir, sign me up.
Shockcannon HG can at last do what they are meant to - go tank hunting with proper ap-3 at 20”
Harpy can easly get into a position to blast away with ap-4 HVC.
Add the +1S from the Symbiostorm and watch the enemy burn/melt/ get devoured.

exlo89 came up with a brillant tactic - dropping a Toxicrene and using it’s strat to have a +2 charge thanks to lashes going to 12”

Kronos opens up options for units that are considered suboptimal at the moment and can at least surprise the opponent.

If you don't run Levi, yes I like Kronos. Honestly with how strong our shooting has gotten, I am very much leaning more towards ranged/hybrid anyways. Melee is still a hassle, both with horde units and monsters. Kronos can switch out the AP for Exoskeletal Stabilization if you don't need it, too.

The Toxicrene combo is hilarious, though. Ah rofl, very good.

I also like the idea of it just anchoring itself with the tentacle lashes and starting towing itself towards it.

One of the problems with that model is that it is so big to move around the environment. This solves that a bit.

Kronos anti psyker is insane.

WL trait for doubles cause perils, 1 cp strat for d3 mortals when they fail a test THEN you get an aura on the psyker you used that keeps that going.

swappable ability to reroll Deny the witch tests.

Artefact for cannot reroll tests

On double 1s or 2s (or 3s dependent on cost) you can cause 7 mortal wounds in 1 go, without the ability to reroll it (d3 from perils +1 from SITW + Deepest shadow d3)

I would definitely add Pyrovores to the list, with +4'' range on the flamers:

Burning Spray from 12'' -> 16'' (D6 hits, S6, Ap-2, 2D)
Pyrogout from 18'' -> 22'' (2D6, S4, AP-1, 1D)

The Toxicrene strat bonuses take effect in the following movement phase, i.e. next turn. So no drop and +2 charge in the same turn.

Kronos seems like fun for tailored games.
