i dunno i'd get excited about the PL of anything at this point. points not really even loosely coupled with PL anymore i don't think.

unless of course that's what your group uses instead of points. in which case, well, get excited, seems bad.

Fair enough. Still doing the 15-20 math here in the nursing home . I just temper the hype I guess, till I see points. Like all the "gargoyles will rule" when I simply think, "what if they are 8 or more ppm?"

According to that leak the Harupsex will have a degrading toughness - 9/8/8. Has that been seen in other Codex before?

Nevermind, saw a better res leak it was just a compression artefact.

Also, Ravenous Maw is x3 attacks lol. 15 attacks at WS.3+ S.7 AP.-1 D.2 is gonna make this baby real hard to tarpit.

Can also regen 4 Wounds a turn, which is intense. Every model it kills is 1W regained, but capped at 3 a phase, so max 1 in Shooting from the tongue, max 3 in Fight.

Movement is 9"/7"/5" so should be really easy to get her into melee.

Likely the points are going back to 180 or more as before but a lot of key differences:
- now hits on 3+ as it should have from the start.
- 15 wounds total.
- 2+ save (I know still does nothing against melta and Tau guns but it's better than before)
- if true about 3 attacks instead of rolling it means its now 15 maw attacks which is more consistent and more capacity to regen.

The bad:
- seems to have lost the ability to use claws if it ate a model, compensated by the more attacks as now you can split them and now what you are getting.
- acid blood likely a stratagem now instead of an ability (although to be fair I barely got any use out of it)
- we don't know what form the adaptations will take this codex (if any) so we don't know if we will have the ability to give it an invuln or a stronger maw attack.


I have always tried to use my haruspex when he was much worse so... I find the changes much nicer

I noticed that the wound regeneration is not tied to just the Maw and Tongue anymore, which is nice.

Just picked up my first haurspex as I thought it would be fun to run in a crusade. Looking like I should have grabbed 3!

No AG's yet again and loss of 8E Hive Commander makes the Haruspex's improved stats only moderately exciting imo. FHB Tfex is the same or better into most targets at T5 or less, and Scythed Dules will still probably be pts better spent. The Haruspex will at least stay pleasantly useable but it's looking like one of the less effective units in the new codex barring Haruspex specific strats or good synergy with new AP's (if they exist). Opinion is based on it probably jumping back up to ~170pts, though could be more with it gaining so much (+2"Mv, +1WS/BS, 3W, +1Sv, 1A, and weapon profiles all upgraded)

Up from flat 7"... so still a longer T2 charge unless the enemy rushes into the Haruspex's face. Most likely won't charge until T3 when deploying moderately safely.
