Tervigon Spawning in Matched Play

Going to try my hand at a CS list using the Terv soon and wanted to clarify how exactly spawning works after looking at the rules for Reinforcement units again. Rules of concern:

1. Reinforcement units can never arrive on the battlefield T1
2. Reinforcement units must arrive by T3 or are destroyed
3. Reinforcement units may never move the turn they enter the battlefield

How do Gants spawned with reinforcement pts interact with the above rules? Are they beholden to some, all, or none? My initial reaction is that all apply to them because the Core Rules call out units added to an army as Reinforcement units, but my hope is that there is some leeway with the first two at least. Probably a relevant discussion for the new codex too, as the rumored spawn upgrade may make spawning Gants a more common play.

The reinforcements cited above are in reference to units set up off the battlefield (strategic reserves or deep strike). Spawning or summoning a new unit should be allowed any turn. I'd probably say "turn 1" is the safest as the tervigon could die.

From memory, it's beholden to none. But better to check with local organisers just to be sure.

I'm not sure the termagants spawned by a tervigon are treated as a reinforcement unit at all. Meaning that there is no termagant unit actually in strategic reserve or in a location other than the battlefield. The spawning (if I remember correctly) is either refill some termagant in an existing unit at not cost, or spawning a new unit by using points that were not used during the building of your army. In both cases, the termagants are never "waiting" somewhere to be put on the battlefield since they are actually not part of your army until you create them on the battlefield.

But I may be wrong too, or maybe i'm mixing too much strategic reserve vs reinforcement unit. But if I remember correctly, a reinforcement unit is a unit that start the battle somewhere else than the battlefield (excluding units inside transport that are on the battlefield). Although, maybe someone has a better reference or FAQ that could say otherwise? I'm not that much up to date with all the changes from faqs, erratas, supplement etc...

That was what was explained to me too. This reserved points were not dedicated to any specific units so it does not have to be in your list. Ie you can bring a 1900 points list and have 100p for reserve for tervi spawns or the strategem to bring a unit back from a table edge. So you have the flexibility in how to use those reserve points on the fly

Wow, Endless Swarm didn't even occur to me for use in CS... Nachmund just became an easier 12 for a Tervigon CS list. 2 CP may not be worth 4VP though, but at least it is an interesting option.
