Sorry. Started a new thread because the question I was about to ask in the crusher stampede thread would really derail in. And we do not need that. I respect the thread starter to much.

Anyway, I was considering comparing warriors to intersceptor space marine. They cost 40 points, T5, 3 wounds 3+ move 12 and have 6 range 18 S5 Ap1 D1 shots.

Warriors with scythe and death splitters are 46 points, T4, 6 wounds, 4+, move 6 and have 6 range 24 S5 Ap1 D shots.

Intersceptor are clearly better. Better bs, better t, movement and save. But warriors have 2 wounds more and do better in melee. BS can be boosted.

Intersceptor are considered competative, including the bolter warrants (although rarely the central heart of a list) . I am warming up to deathspitter warriors.

Value goes up the more -1D there is in the game. Although I would not rule out Deathspitters going to D2 in the new codex, to better differentiate them from Devourers.

But I feel the defensive side of the ball will always be more important for Warriors. We have enough hammers, we need more anvils. Especially of the ObSec variety.

10” Mv and Fly really make a big difference. Also, don’t forget that they will typically have AP2 from tactical doctrine. Both have different roles within their faction, so direct comparisons between the two aren’t very accurate.

deepstrike and fly for starters. The role they fill is already overkill filled in nid army for less points. Warriors are redundant and expensive for that role except maybe in CB, but they are doing other things CB lists likely
