Carnifexes aren't doing much in cc since the nerf to S6, imo they work better as durable shooty platforms, and their durability just skyrocketed in Crusher Stampede. I haven't played much this year so it'll be fun to bring this to a table soon.
Question about Swarm Leader - can't target Monsters? I'm not sure we even have the 'Beast' type in our ranks, Raveners perhaps? In that case I will either swap it for an extra Adaptive Physiology - Murderous Size on the Flyrant, or just save the CP.

Swarm Leader indeed can not target Monsters. And no, we don't have anything with the Beast keyword yet.

Swarm Leader can target only Infantry and Swarm units (I don't think we have any Beast but correct me please if I am wrong. Raveners are infantry so they can be targeted).

Probably Murderous Size would be better as you mentioned but you can also try the Raging Influence WLT and will generate some extra hits if it's close to the dima? I think it's a really good WLT but shines of course at a more CC oriented list.

Ok, swapping Swarm Leader for Murderous Size on Flyrant. Also considering spending a CP for an extra relic, Biomorphic Carapace for the Flyrant.

Another HVC could be better on the Flyrant than Devourers, depends on the meta I suppose.

I ran a similar build a couple of years back with good results, then I had Jormungandr for the 2+ armour saves. Most satisfying win was outshooting a Tau army.
