It has the standard bioweapon bond, malceptor hive guard but with monsters.

Maybe take warp ritual as a secondary.

Fire the dima and double move a scythed into their lines first turn . Move the tfex on middle objective. Malanthrope moves up with the barbed h. to take another middle or support. HG in the back objective or behind cover with warriors on back objective. Ravaners for claiming the middle until tfex gets there.

As alternatives, I have an neurothrope, zoanthropes, brood lord (mastery of shadows can be good here).

But more importantly exocrine, mawloc, trygon/tyrgon prime, tfex with rupture and a winged hive tyrant with 2 x scything Talons all considering play on this list. Tempted to buy a haruspex.

Should I switch out anything on the list for what I own? I really wanted exocrine to make it on here but I had enough elite shooting with the HG and barbed

Malanthrope can have the new Warlord Trait of minus 1 to hit in Melee. Or the redeploy strategic adaptation.

If I had the haruspex I'd take exploding 6's.

Thoughts on the nidzilla list?

I might change out the tfex for an exocrine. Go all in on shooting.

Since you are taking 2x HQ & Troop each, breaking the list into two Patrols will save 1CP.

Malanthrope seems weak for the list since it has competing needs. W/in 9" of HG for rr's and w/in 6" of the FW monsters for -1 to-hit may not be feasible past T1 and will certainly not be common past T2. I think another Psyker to be able to bring all the new powers and still have Catalyst/Paroxysm would possibly be better. Splitting into 2 patrols you can use the Tyrannofex pts for a Tyrant (prob -1to wound or Barb for relic) and Vemonthropes. If I had FW and was tuning your list, I would run something like this:

Tyrant w/ AG, TS, Wings, WL, choice relic (Bio-Carapace or Barb), 2x MST or Devs & MRC.
SL
2x3 War w/ AG, Link, 2xST
Dima
3 Rav
6 HG
Mal w/ Link
2x Scythe Dule
5x Venoms

If set on the Barbed (love the model, don't have 2 Scythed, etc.), you can drop Venoms to 4 (better for transhuman strat) and remove AG from Wars or TS from Tyrant. BL could also be a decent choice in place of the Tyrant, and you could prob fit another Rav unit in for action monkey if going that route.

Edit: Scratch the BL/Rav route, you would need more monsters.

Is it me or doesn't the original specification of the army of Renown say you can't use Specialist Detachments, I thought the spearhead was a specialist one?

Specialist detachment is something completely different, no relation to detachment type.

I don't think I was gonna give hive guard rerolls. Malenthrope charges up with the aggressive monsters. I was thinking about taking strategic adaptation WLT for redeploys.

The malceptor goes up too, but chains back his damage rerolls to HG or to scythed H or barbed H.

HG just get +1 to hit.

I might even just take the HG out, as they are a lot of points just hanging out in the backfield....not even taking an objective usually.

HG in Levi really want rr’s to stay consistent, and the +1 to-hit is better served on the FW monsters. Dropping them prob wouldn’t be the worst idea, got another Dule to use the points on?

Might put a trygon and carnifex (monstrous crushing claws and Devourers) in instead of the HG. Or a winged hive tyrant or brood lord. I'm gonna play test various lists here.

Okay new idea!

This is my version of thicc city haha.

This list is all about durability!

Many T8, with 5++, psykers for the 5+++ and or 4++. Malceptor provides his -1 S buff for other T8 monsters moving up claiming middle board.

Malanthrope does the same, but for -1 to hit.

Tervigon has biomorphic carapace, provides defensive psychic and buffs yhe barbed H. With reroll 1,2's as that is usually is being targeted wounding on 3+.

2 units of 10 termigaunts in reinforcement 100 points to get spawned to help with more bodies.

2 x warriors for +1 hit bio weapon and ob sec.

I thought about including a 9 block of warriors with enhanced resistance to ignore ap1 or ap2. With a 5++, and possibility of 5+++ with Catalyst, that Squad will be virtual impossible to shift. But I had to split the warriors in two troop choices to unlock my hq slots.
