Hi all, just wanted to throw out my list I'm bringing to a major this weekend. Features a Hierophant of all things, going to try some hit and run shenanigans with genestealers charging from the titan killing a unit and overruning back into the safety of the transport. Here's the list!
Hierophant with Murderous size on lashwhip pods - 850
Leviathan Battalion:
Broodlord with Adaptive neural lobe, mastery of shadows, swarm leader, strategic adaptation and onslaught
Broodlord with catalyst
16 genestealers with 4 acid maws
20 devil gaunts
20 devil gaunts (19 devourers 1 fleshborer cause i was 2 points over)
5 warriors with double scything talons and bioweapon bond
lictor
lictor
GSC 4 armed emperor patrol
Magus with mass hypnosis/mind control
5 flamer acolytes
5 acolytes
5 acolytes
Thoughts on the list are stealers deploy inside the hierophant, 2 devil gaunt squads deploy on the line to run forward with onslaught and tesla shoot turn 1 if i go first, or redeploy into reserves if i dont. If I'm worried about them being able to do massive damage to hierophant I can reserve it but would obviously prefer not to have 1200 points off the table at the start of the game. Hierophant can get a 1+ sv from mastery of shadows if need defense against ap 2/3. Otherwise hope catalyst is enough on him and give him +1 to hit and let him absolutely obliterate everything. Murderous size on lashwhip pods is hilarious, 10 attacks going from 5/1/1 to 6/2/2 is insanely good. I don't think anyone can kill him in 1 turn but biggest concern is them bracketing him to bottom bracket right from the get go. Orcs and Grey knights will be the vast majority of top tier lists I fight, the guy expected to win is my teammate running custodes dreads with full payload manticores. Against all of those they run mostly strength 6 ap 2 guns that the hierophant should be able to shrug off. They've beaten my harriden list by just ignoring it since it can't get objectives. But hierophant is actually scary in combat and can now get obsec and completely cover an entire objective. Lictors are for ROD and engage, GSC does the same but can also steal primaries with perfect ambush and give me blip protection against the orc plane lists, although without hive guard I don't think that actually does anything. Let me know what you guys think and I'll let you know how it goes!
