The list is very alpha strike heavy, I’m relying on the hive guard to put in all the work and I think the best way to make 2 units work is run 1 Levi squad and 1 Kronos squad. 2 possible sources of exploding 6s and rerolls with the warrior +1 to hit makes them super efficient. Devilgaunts will be put into reserve if I don’t get first turn or if they don’t have any targets, most likely against Ork or admech flyers they will start on the board as with Tesla and double shoot can potentially take out 2 planes. Against drukhari they will most likely go into strategic reserve until I’ve popped open a few raiders with the hive guard.
The Genestealers are a counter punch which I will try to hide if I don’t go first, or if I redeploy I can put them forward aggressively.
Primaries to be taken will either be Rod or Banners depending on how many objectives the mission is. Stranglehold will be a good pick on 5 objective missions as a hormogant or termagant squad can be sacrificed to hold the third objective and hive guard can usually shoot off small obsec units to help steal objectives. The third secondary will either be mission/opponent dependent, but could also take psychic ritual.
My potential changes:
-Swarmlord for Hive Tyrant, the double move can be clutch for the Genestealer or to put a small unit of obsec to steal an objective.
- Add a barbed Hierodule, the extra range can be helpful against Ork planes, it also would have more melee punch as all my anti tank threat is in the hive guard or weight of attacks from the genestealers or devil gaunts.
Any input you guys could give me, haven’t had a chance to test the list out yet?
