Hormagaunts and custom biofleet

i have a question for all you

we can start considering i started 'nids in 3ed when the codex was not out and i loved the metal hormagaunts models
in these years i read the 2ed codex where we really had few shooting weapons and so the way was to run and kill in close combat our enemy

we had hormagaunts, genestealers and carnfex with the skills to rip infantry, elites and vehicles in many pieces.

now i would like to try it again with a custom fleet, trying to gve hormagaunt a big role


reading BoB i seen there are many options to improve them

i was thinking in Byo-metallic cyst and pack hunters trait in this way untill outnumber the enemy i may use stealers and hormy with a vp-2 weapons (ST with bot biofleet traits and RC with pack hunter benefit untill outnumbering the enemy)

using hormy strat that give another -1 t their vp
and the stat that improve the vp permanently for the match if an unit is destroyed i may have manu troups with the chance to cause many troubles also to people i wound on 5+


what do you think about that? in a non extreme competitive meta may work or is oly a dream?

I ran some hormogaunts in a custom fleet with the 6+ invul and outnumber gives an additional AP. I found the 6+ invul is VITAL for survivability. There's so much AP in the game now, that the 6+ invul greatly increases your number of saves.

Note: I found that 29 hormogaunts didn't do much compared to my 58 devourer gaunts. The hormogaunts we're predominantly used as a screen or for running to quickly grab objectives. They didn't have the strength or weight of attacks to do much damage but did score points.
