Back in synapse range. State of the game?

Hello hive

It has been a while since I last invested myself into Tyranids.
I have been not that well for a while(burn out) and had to step back a bit.
I stayed sidelined engaged and active in my hobby club.
But now I can truly
commit again!
I did try my necron and death guard a bit
But am eager to just try and make nids work

What is the state of nids now in your views?

We can compete.

If you can afford or already have forgeworld then the big bugs are all viable now. The Dima is king at being a tactical missile. The Hierodules are solid mid-field. The Harridan and Hierophant are solid anti-elite options as well.

Hive Guard and an Exocrine are still a good artillery combo.

MSU gaunts/gants are still good for objectives. Lictors get a special mention here tho for being very cheap Infantry units that can perform actions on arrival.

Swarmlord is still our best HQ option, no matter what your build is.

Neurothrope and Broodlord are both good HQ options.

A Flyrant if teched well can be a good option for psychic powers and melee or ranged support.

Genestealers were bad most of 9th but the recent change in points to 13 instead of 15 have given them a little bit of life. Best to run in units of 12 or 15.

For secondaries we mostly just take Engage on All Fronts, Retrieve Octarius data and the 3rd varies depending on mission and opponent.

Are rippers still a thing?
I do have a dimarcheron. Sounds like it finaly is worth it.

Rippers are fine but only Infantry can do most actions.
