Is it okay to play a giant pile of hormagaunts?

Hi,

I am brand new to this. I haven’t played a game yet, but I’ve really enjoyed building and painting my army.

I’m looking forward to playing, but I’m more interested in having fun than in winning, and I really want to play a certain way that I think will be fun, and hopefully will be fun to play against… I want to play a true swarm of hormagaunts. Obviously my army isn’t just hormagaunts, I’ve got a hive tyrant, tyrant guard, some screamer killers, warriors and zoanthropes. But I really want to have a big ole’ swarm of hormagaunts and see what I can do charging them in, backed up by melee warriors for synaps.

My question is this: Regardless of whether or not this is tactically a good idea… will this make me a jerk? Are people just going to hate me, or be irritated with me for doing this, or will it be fun for people to fight against?

I’ve heard mixed feedback.

Most people enjoy playing against swarms of tyranids because they are easy to kill and largely ineffective. Hormagaunts will do laughably little damage to most units. Your opponents shouldn't be annoyed. They may even compliment you for giving them a fun game of target practice.
