Just informed of salty rumours about GSC/Custodes

Seems like some rumours are out about the custodes/GSC box, looks cool. buddy just linked me some info will see if I can get it up summized

Cult-

Full reword on CA, no more markers
Basic ambush is a simple DS, can mess with it using characters.
Lying in wait and APA are gone
Primus lets you get 3 units per game 3" closer (idk if that includes DS)
Alphus gives concealed positions to jackals
Sabotuer allows a unit to ds 3" from enemy, but no charge (made APA A character)
Nexus can deploy 3 units after the initiative roll, can be into DS
PATTY/PS/Vechicles will GET CULT CREEDS
UL now works like bodyguards
Gunslinger ap-2
Rending claws are +1s and d2 on 6 to wound
Pures are 4a no flury
Monsterous rending claws dont RR wounds, instead are str +2 and d3/4
Locus aura stick negates charge bonuses in an aura

Webber assault d6 auto hit, no more wound shenanigans (IE using S or T)

Aye I just got the same. Seems OK and I do like the greater focus on mobility/deployment tricksies as a tool for GSC. Will be good to have some redeploy of bigger assets outside of deployment zone (I'm gonna be miffed if its just bikes).

Having 6" charge base feels much better, assuming Primus allows 3 units to drop in 9-3" instead of 9".

Saboteur giving 3" also seems decent - removing it from Strats and giving it to Characters doesn't feel bad, but it does make worse our situation with 1 trick squishy characters with no further value.

Loving the UL changes.

Don't misread Primus. Looks like it allows you to deploy up to 3" out of your deployment zone. Nothing about DS. Which is still fine if it's after knowing who goes first.

I'm glad blips are gone myself. Fun for a bit..

Interesting rumors! I'll have to do some thinking on if these rumors allow cult to become competitive or not. It still feels like cult is overly reliant on deep strike which creates issues for us on smaller boards. The primus 3" outside of your deployment zone also doesn't feel like a good ability.

Where do people find these rumors?

They were on Reddit - from what I've heard an unknown source (compared to past sources that provide very good info) which is the salt level increase.

As someone who plays BA (DC moving up 12") and Crons (ability to move up 6") free movement is free movement. Esp with our (current) ability to advance and charge built in or psychic powers. I just hope we can decide to use this after who know who goes first. I've found being on the board is way safer/reliant than deepstrike charging sadly. The increase in terrain and rules has helped with that as well.

Likely the Primus won't help DS. They've taken away nearly everything that helps a 9" charge from other armies and there is no way they'd allow one character to affect 3 units (1 for 1, I'd have thought to be true). 

Overall.. I like these rumors myself. T5 aberrants are pretty neat. Esp if they keep their same point costs as they have now. 3 attacks are needed and overall feel better as an elite unit (Sang Guard/Lychguard noticable)

If there's any army that needs ds charge buffs, it's GSC though.

If Primus is 3 units at deployment, then it's a good as closed casket - 3" out of deployment doesn't even get you good cover most of the time.

Real talk - is there a single trait that benefits vehicles? Maybe Bladed Cog. But PGS getting Cog is a big deal - so there's probably big changes to our cult creeds incoming to balance pgs. 4A means they can at least run small units without unnecessary suffering though.

Power fist Claws - yay or nay?

Why do I get the feeling that our codex will be mostly weird movement gimmicks, no durability buffs, and 1 damage output strat?

Honestly, I am in favor of the power fist claws. It gives metamorphs a distinct role. Currently they struggle somewhat to fulfill a niche that Acolytes don't do better and cheaper. Assuming they cost the metamorphs cheap enough, having a bunch of budget S8 hits with relatively low accuracy may be a very good thing. They would be a HUGE threat even if they rarely live up to it. They would be a priority target and if you protect them while bringing them in range, you will be able to pull off shenanigans with a unit that is equipped to appear less scary but with a higher success rate will do more.

Right now metamorphs are just not very scary or very effective. They aren't bad, but given the lack of obsec and threat, there are just better options available a lot of the time.

I'm guessing that we'll get new cult creeds that are inline with 9e. As written, bladed cog + purestrains would be an amazing combination (even worth the extra cost to take them in GSC).

If these rumours are 'from the box set' I'm assuming the box will contain; a Patriach, a Primus, meta morphs plus possibly a nexus, alpha and jackals squad and the saboteur?

I'm hoping we see more in the way of resilience for Nids/GSC the edition continues to become more 'killy' and us older dexes are struggling to hold the ground we can easily take.

I'd be salty if GSC get their codex before nids but yeah...Seems like everything is pointing in that direction.

I'd also like to point out that if these are true rending/MRC are the exact same profiles for tyranid units, so it might be safe to say that hive tyrants are going to get extremely better at harassing/killing things if it's true.

Unless they make them "purstrain claws" and "Patty's MRC" so they're different.

I know this sounds bad but i would like to give a go at an all veihicle list with hive cult. Though i dont know bout the ambush seems too hard to control.

If they buff the ridgerunners or goliaths a bit, we could see a vehicle focused list like the new Orks.

The custodes changes seem good. It was too be expected that they would lose their ability to have 3++ with storm shield. If the 4+++ is for all phases not just psychic then it could be strong.
If the army wide HI is in addition to obsec then it is very good otherwise it's a slight nerf.

I look forward to the two codices.

If this is all the major points, it would be pretty disappointing. I'm sure there is lots more.

Also for custodes I was really hoping for some model releases. A plastic telemon and some new troops would be legit.
