Hopes and expectations for new codex

So with the rumour that GSC are getting their codex in December what are your expectations and wishes. To be fair there will probably be a munitorum field manual beforehand.

I'm only a theoretical gsc player with about 1k points mostly on sprue to date. I really like the lore of gsc, while i don't see them as vampires like bahamut, i like the cruel joke of their belief in the Tyranids as their saviours.

That it if the way i would like to see some of the following.
Abberants reduced price or preferably increase their durability because the has been a lot of -1 damage handed out since they were last used regularly
Magus needs a points reduction.
Trucks need something, probably more speed or they can go through breachable (at least the rock grinder) or a 3+.

In a more general sense:

Cult creeds for all.
Some unique way to assist charge out of DS to replace a perfect ambush. I thought of since thing like the new 1k sons mechanic except each cult leader point gives +1" move out of DS.
Some way to get around things like infiltrators without flat out ignoring them.
More stratagems and abilities to disrupt your enemy, turn off auras and abilities maybe even blocking a secondary pick, which would probably be too strong but would solve the assassinate problem somewhat.

Deffo agree on more sabotage. Can accept less buffs on own units (keeping some core ones) with a lot more effective debuffs (and debuffs where I don't need to be within 6" or dead range).

Don't agree on cult for all - Genestealers and Patty shouldn't have it. But vehicles should - I think it is the LAST codex that didn't affect half its selection. No other codex did that since.

Debilitating strike squad Purestrains that are much more than just purple genestealers

A stronger Patriarch that is actually psychically charged. More casts, a SitW effect that stacks with SitW, Fearless, invul buff. The fact its got an S and T buff over Broodlords was big and the right way to do it. Not liking its crazy price tag right now - but with more casts, debuffs on the enemy, retaining its Fearless aura, and having an aura or buff that affects ALL and not just Genestealers would make it fine.

Character impact should be higher, way higher. 2/3 of the character roster is weak sauce. Only the Primus and Magus really pull weight, and Alphus only just passes. Kellermorph at least used to be ace even if its not anymore. There were a lot of interesting effects from characters but they could afford to have a much more drastic impact considering their innate limitations.

WELL DEFINED roles and niches for each class of melee unit. "Slightly different Acolyte which is still inferior" is bad design, so they each need to do something special and of value to the cult.

MAKE BROOD BROTHERS MATTER. Cutting off their access to what makes IG work, penalising us for using their weaker versions, why even bother having it attached to the faction? BB should have their own major benefit for being involved in the war, and while it might be different from base IG, it can't just SUCK or NONEXISTENT.

STOP MAKING MODELS WITH (please do not swear) RULES. Bikers had so much potential but a veritable forced hodgepodge of weapon choices turned that into scrap. The only build that made sense was Demo charge bikes, and when they left, people experimented with huge bike units that were ultimately much weaker versions of other codex scorers, expensing vast cp to make it not suck.

BETTER DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM. Give us back access to DS, infiltration, and blips, the way it was damn well supposed to be. Blips just in your own deployment zone doesn't scream "ambush" very much when you can just shoot them from 20 miles away. Likewise, premium "ambush" army can't even land the charge right out of ambush, with the trashiest charge assistance strat in the entire game. Give them shoot on entry as a separate 1cp strat, then a 1cp strat for move after DS. Or hell. Give them a 3cp deepsyrike in enemy movement and declare charge straight up. Case close, tricksy, disruption of enemy plans. GSC should be built around disruption of enemy plans.

I'm hoping for a complete rip up and redesign. The codex lost a lot of it's teeth coming into 9e. I'm hoping it gains some of its edge back and that it's both fun to play and fun to play against. One of my biggest complaints about GSC in 8e was that it felt like most of the games were one-sided.

For specific requests?
1. GSC needs to lose its dependency on command points. Command points should help it but not be required to make the army function
2. GSC needs to have most or all of its units be viable for their costs (looking at you abberants)
3. GSC vehicles need to receive cult traits.
4. Custom cult traits need to be good.

2-way to mitigate cp loss due to non-generic cult creeds.
3-better characters
4-a reason to take the in codex brood brothers units such as leemans.

Genestealers need teeth in the Genestealer cult codex!
Not giving them cult creeds OR obsec but charging full points is silly! Give them more bite!
Brood bros need major help.
Vehicles need some help.
What I would like to see is for maybe cult creeds to come with different bonuses for the actual genestealers, vehicles, and brood bros that come with them. It doesn't have to be a cult creed, but that doesn't mean those units shouldn't get ANY benefit at all! Call it something else, make it give slightly different bonuses, etc. Maybe even let you choose a originating faction for the brood bros. Get the +1 leadership and maybe the secondary Cadian/Vostroyan/Catachan/etc bonus. Sure it won't be as good as that faction but at least it is something more than JUST +1 to the single least important stat.
Maybe something similar for the Genestealers and a partial hive fleet bonus. Barring that just reduce their costs to signify that they AREN'T getting any kind of bonus that those units WOULD get if they were in their respective codecies.

For purestrain genestealers, would giving them lookout sir make them competitive? I'm thinking that the cult would protect them like characters.

Honestly, right now most acolytes and some neophytes are more valuable than a purestrain...

I think a flat damage buff to purestrains would see them have some presence in lists going forward. Although I still find the lack of meaningful rules odd for us.
