2k point list, how can be a possible tyranid meta list?

I'm an "almost new" player of the tyranids army and i want ask you a question, is tyranids in meta?

I know its potential, it has an "alpha strike" as damage if we think that potentially the first turn can:


Charge with two units, Genestealers (with swarmlord hive commander move and run combo), and the Scythed Hierodule (running using opportunistic advance, to move of a maximum of 24' and launching onslaught to charge)

Shoot with everything you have:

Double shoot with hive guards (with single-minded annihilation stratagem)

tyrannofex kronos rupture for heavy enemy supports

exocrine + symbiostorm (multiplying the his at 5+ dice results)

I mean this is a lot , how it can't be on meta? How would you change this list?

Eh there are a lot of problems with the list that hold it back from being a great TAC list for current tournament metas. 16 GS is often times too much points concentrated into one unit. Many other armies run MSU of 5-man units... all of which can probably neuter GS on the charge. So you take a 200pt unit into 100pts and overkill, and a second 100pt unit comes in and effectively wipes the 200pt unit. Your list as it stands is not good at trading infantry units, which is a pretty big piece of the game against certain armies.

A Tyrannofex w/ rupture is just in a bad place atm w/o something to make it stand still. You either have to start it out in the open (w/o dermic means it dies if you go second), or behind terrain and only shoot 3 shots on a 4+ w/o the Kronos rr 1's. Also, if you have to shoot at something w/ -1 to-hit, a 5+ to-hit w/ only 6 shots will never be meta in any meta.

Hive Guard are not a guaranteed Alpha, and some tables & deployments can make them unable to safely shoot anything valuable T1. Drukhari particularly hurt their playability, they don't do too much against Raiders. 270pts needing to spend 2CP to have little better than a 50/50 chance to kill is rough. They are good, don't get me wrong, but they act as a ball-and-chain that some armies are well positioned to take advantage of.

I think I would rework the Kraken troops to be:

12x GS
12x GS
8x GS
21x Devgant

I would also probably trade the Tyrannofex and Scythed Dule for a Barbed Dule in Kronos w/ Dermic and use the leftovers to put another 20x Devgants or 12x GS in Kraken. Barbed Dule will take fire from Exo, and allows you the option to go with ER on the Hive Guard instead. Ignore -1 or -2 AP is pretty big since most, if not all, Ignore LoS weapons are at most AP -2.

Nids in GT 2021 seem well positioned to nearly guarantee 12 VP on the new Scramblers with 2x Lictor and 1x Pyrovore. 100pts might make us the most pts efficient at it, so I would assume that a "meta" list is going to start with that as a foundation. To that end, trading a Ripper for a 2nd Lictor could make the list stronger.



EDIT: I'd like to caveat that the 2x Lictor and 1x Pyro foundation is for a pure Nids "meta" list. Most current lists appear to prefer to take GSC for the VP foundation, as they can contribute cheap deep-striking INFANTRY bodies which also have Objective Secured on top.
