So I have been kind of noodling over some list ideas for my nidzilla army. I was wondering what thoughts or ideas people had on my list. I've had some experience with similar schemes in the past.
A couple list building criteria I am setting for myself is limiting the give tyrants to one per detachment assuming the swarmlord wil get to sit in the supreme command detachment. No need to get dependent on hive tyrants if it won't realistically last long term. Secondly I am running 3 toxicrenes. I feel you need 3 for them to work and I already have them painted so they need to fit into the puzzle well.

Custom Hive Fleet: +1 to hit for monsters, Re-roll one attack with synapse
Swarmlord
Hive Tyrant - Adrenal Glands, Heavy Venom Cannon, Monstrous Rending Claws
Hive Tyrant - Adrenal Glands, Heavy Venom Cannon, Monstrous Rending Claws
Broodlord
3 x 3 Ripper Swarms
3 x Toxicrene
2 x Trygon - Adrenal Glands
Exocrine
Tyrannofex - Acid Spray.
In general I would intend to start with all the monsters on the board. A turn 2 8" charge is just lackluster. With a trygons speed they could get up the board in a hurry and get very easy charges turn or turn 1 with a good advance or help from swarmy. I think they complement the toxicrenes well as they can really put out quality anti-tank scything talons attack. They are squishier at T6 but I kind of think they are about as durable as a Toxicrene and can fill a similar role. Especially with voracious appetite. Their direct competition would be scything talon carnifexes who lack strength or the weapon skill. I mean 2 trygons vs 3 carnifexes is 14 attacks on trygons to 15 attacks for carnifexes. Carnifexes are at lower strength and are less accurate except on the final bracket and at that point what difference does it make. In total they would both have 24 wounds between them.
I generally give my exocrine synapse. I find he is rarely targeted. He does really good work but it is hard to prioritize him when there is so much aggressive biomass that needs to be dealt with first.
I really view everything in the list but the broodlord, the two trygons and maybe the acidspray fex as being kind of core to the list. The broodlord and acidfex are pretty proven contributors in this scheme but I certainly think there is potentially room to mix it up and get a better yield.
Part of my issue is when it gets to the last 200-300 points you tend to have to chose a pair of monsters to fill in the gap. So 2 trygons or a mawloc and hive tyrant or 3 carnifexes or two mawlocs then sending the remaining points on wings, special weapons and toxin sacs for the other monsters. It ends up being for me a bit of a tough call sometimes.
What do you guys think?
