Edit: further betting that it'll be released as the exclusive character model in a Piety & Pain style 'discounted' boxed set, but with old Genestealers. Because legally any discounted Tyranid box must include the old Genestealer sculpts

I'm thinking either Red Terror or possibly Biovore? (Have they been paying attention to MonkeyChucka's meaner, more scuttly kitbash?)

Also, did anything come of that 'niddish' tail that was revealed a month or so ago? I don't remember anything dropping.

As you said, I think it's the international law to include 8 stealers in every release. GW has to obide.

I am crossing my scything talons that the previous one was for an impending Lictor/Deathleaper kit and this one is for Red Terror. If they can follow that up with a Vore box I'll be a happy Niddy.

kociamafia your interpretation seems the most likely. I could also see the primaris lieutenant wielding a tyranid with that tail to bash some chaos space marines as well.

Fingers crossed for a nid, but I'm cautious as I've been burned by fakeouts before.

Jokes aside I'm really hoping this is just the pyrovore/biovore kit we desperately need imo. Make it a x3 like the thropes and warriors, price it equiv and let us start using these models. I strongly believe they don't get play purely because its hard or absurdly expensive to get them. I guess a new red terror (and some actual rules that matter) could be neat if it gets the amount of love other new character models have been getting but I have my doubts. I would be least happy if it were deathleaper/lictors mostly cause I just bought the last lictor I wont hahah. What if we got all three thoooo...

In my codex predictions we get both Lictors/Deathleaper and Raveners + Red Terror.

The first rumour engine was 2x lictor tails, this one appears to be a prehencile pincer from Terror.

IMO the reason I guessed these 2 was that they are the kits that they can release that *does* a lot with very little effort on their part.

So in true Xenos fashion these kits are the least effort possible to update something Tyranid.

Not to be a party popper but I do not think it is a tyranid model.

Tyranid spiky tend to be more flat and have some slits in them. The only part that comes close to that look is the things on the long tongue of the haruspex. Compare to a ravaner tail it is more 'flat'.

It's about the same shape and curve as the tyrant tail. A new tyrant sculpt to drop with the new codex wouldn't be out of character for Games Workshop.

Just like the lictor tails people in denial because we not allowed nice things. I thought the first were lashwhips but the tail is even 90% already there.

Prehensile pincer tail 100%. I am never confident online and both these rumors are 100% Nid.

The articulated plates are where we confirm. They just add more with design change.

I like this idea. Least effort possible to get Nid players to eat each other over new models. Basically least effort required to give an update and most feedback from the starved vultures we are.

If the Red Terror is redone in plastic, the tail pincer should probably look like this. It's very close to the original model. And the grayscale does match the traditional red/blue Behemoth scheme of the Red Terror.

But at the same time, this bit is generic enough, it could be any kind of weird lizard beast thingy for either setting.
The previous Lictor-like tail rumor has more Nid-specific traits (even though it too had some differences from the current design).

It is probably the Red Terror.

The 'pincher' part of the tyrants tail is a good deal flatter. This pincher appears more round. We see this on raveners, hive tyrant, mawlock/trygon, haruspecs, carnifex thresher scythe, red terror.

Second the tyranid tails have 3 to 5 ridge plates on topp of each other. These plates are just spread around all over the place. We see this on hive tyrant, ravaners, alpha warrior, haruspex, carnifexes and mawlock/trygon.


They might have changed. But I do not think the evidence is in support of this. What ever it is I doubt it is tyranid. I would be posetivly suppriced if it was.
