SL is wasted tech. Downgrade to a patrol, toss SL, full out the HG, fill with flavour.

It’s already a patrol @kaze, but 2 HQs is optional. Prime is decent but not mandatory, best value is for cheap HQ tax but as force multiplier he is ok with 20+ warriors.

SL is very good in 1k games since a lot of people struggle with dealing with him. 2d3 mortal wounds (smite + psychic scream) does a lot in small games and catalyst is great, especially on a max warrior blob trying to hold an objective or on SL himself for 3++/5+++ in melee and just using voracious appetite every turn to beat things to a pulp with mortal wounds. Dropping him opens abhor the witch but that is niche. Our psychics are good so I prefer that. I think 2x enhanced resistance is better than ignore cover warlord trait on prime.

Small games favour killiness a lot more so max hive guard is a good idea. I’d probably prefer an exocrine or acid spray tyrannofex in the current meta (easier to fit pointswise if you want to keep swarmlord).

Small games will get you stuck in melee so I think leviathan would serve you better durability wise.

Boneswords on 4 man unit looks like a waste, keep them cheap with 2x scytals and steal objectives. Replace scytals with boneswords in the first big unit instead. Consider a couple of lash whips (maybe on bio cannon warriors) to prevent consolidates on objectives.

If you decide to keep your warlord trait, put enhanced resistance on the most expensive warrior blob (the one with both spitters and swords)

You could downgrade the Swarmlord to a broodlord and fill out the hive guard. The risk is that you keep in one big blob and don't go out to objectives. Especially with the prime meaning you want both warrior units in range

I'd drop the little warrior unit to fill out the other warrior units with a full 9 (3 cannons each) all bone swords and dspits. Drop the warlord upgrade and give both warrior blobs enhanced adaption.

Now the warriors can do things and have the most durability you can offer them at this point level/theme. You should use them to focus down any infantry that might get in the way of swarmy removing threats. It'll also limit your opponents scoring potential since yours is fairly low.

You could also consider making room for aome hybrid fexes too. It would cost you the hivegaurd but would give your army more options. A fex could have a 2+ and -1 to hit making them durable enough. Downgradeing the swarmlord to a walkrant could be an option but i wouldnt be able to myself, ofcourse i would also be running the fexes as pure melee and useing them as missiles but i have found most people wont give up their guns regardless of suggestions. So do what you do, give it a try, and have fun.
