1000 pt.s Kronos (first time Tyr)

Hello!
I am going to start collecting Tyranids soon, so I was looking for some advice in building a 1000 point list. I have done my research online (and on this forum also) in order to get a general idea on what most Tyr lists run. I would like to use models that can then be re-used in future higher points lists (1500, maybe 2000). Also no FW. For now at least.
In general, I prefer a more shooty/psychic/control approach to the game, than just throwing things forward, but since I am new to Tyr I am more than happy to change my mind!
I would love some of your insights on this!

I planned this list so I can take WWSWF, Engage and Scramblers. My meta is mainly shooty, not too competitive, also the tables are not too packed with terrain unfortunately. This is the reason I thought about the Venomthropes.

This looks like a good starting point. I think 2 lictors could be enough but there's not much else you can get for the points.
You could consider a neurothrope instead of the hive tyrant and done more warriors or termagants. You'd need to buy a whole box of thropes though unless you can get one off​ eBay or something. I would advise magnetising the warriors, i use 3mm ones and found it easy.

Imo Walkrant with Quaddev is kind of useless, investing 10 points into making it into a winged MRC/2Dev tyrant seems like a better option

Idk about the scythed warriors, termagant squads seem better + you will need those in the future anyway, since it's the main troop choice, and they come with rippers, which are another amazing troop choice, due to 9 wounds deepstrike obsec

The 3 lictors seem unnecessary, I have a similar list, and just 1 is usually enough, although 2 wouldnt hurt either

Other thing that could maybe change is a neurothrope instead of the venomthropes, 1 synapse unit seems like a gamble, especially when it doesnt have Look out sir + Neurothrope can stay in the back with the shooters to symbiostorm them, while the shortrange tyrant kinda has to walk away from them anyway

just my thoughts tho, its not like a set in truth or anything, 1000 games are kinda weird anyway, due to the table being quite small for so many units

It is not a bad start. For sitting back and shooting too many of your units don't have the right guns.
I'd recommend dropping the venomthropes and a Lictor or two.
You then give the warriors Deathspitters and a Venom cannon 1 per 3.
Give the hive tyrant either wings, or give him a heavy venom cannon.
Consider adding a Neurothrope as well.

Overall I think you'll find the list does well for you. I just see the warriors and tyrant being out of range for the first turns, while just dying to shooting.

Small/ min warrior are great objective holders. For 1 point more you get overall a lot better survivability, except maybe dev doctrine heavy bolters. Lashwhips/bone sword make for really good charge defense since your opponent can't consolidate.

Vanguard for 3 lictors is depressing. Either take a bat with neuro (somehow) or just a patrol: you can use strat reserve for deploy to save 2 CP.

Reguarding the Tyrant: I wanted one so that I could then use him as Swarmlord. And since I was going to use Kronos as hivefleet I wanted to make use of its trait and create a shooty Tyrant (also thanks to Voracious ammunitions). 

EDIT: I actually put the wrong weapons on him lol. I wanted to use the Deathspitters since they are range 24". And if I don't strait up kill a unit (probably wont happen) they get D3 mortals every turn. 

Reguarding the lictors you are probably right 3 are not necessry. I just don't know what to put instead ahah. Maybe a batallion with a Neurothrope is better as you said.

The warriors I just took them as cheap obsec/action units. Also because I like the models. Do you think 10 gants are superior to 3 naked warriors?

You need to destroy a model and not wipe the unit for voracious ammunition to trigger at the end of shooting phase. Several issues with this since it means you risk leaving a unit alive that you actually wanted to die. It’s ok for some stray chip damage but usually it’s better to shoot with all you have until let’s say a unit on an objective, is completely dead, at which point the extra mortals are wasted. Killing off a few models in a unit might reduce their offensive output a little but is unlikely to affect scoring which is what it’s all about

With the current meta with lots of tough multi wound models (custodes, DG terminators, DW terminators, bladeguards, storm shield vets etc) you also risk failing to inflict 3 wounds with deathspitters and thereby not killing a model (thus wasting the mortals), especially since you might just bounce off all the 2+/4++ saves people are rocking.

The safer and imo better physiology is enhanced resistance on hive guard and dermic symbiosis on exocrine.

Having played with deathspitter+HVC fexes with ammunition in crusade, it's generally quite underwhelming (it's sad when you don't even kill a guardsmen). It's not terrible with rr 1s, but while you do have Kronos, deathspitters are only 24" and you need LoS.
