Hey mate, your list looks really solid! I wish I had the forgeworld models to run something like that.

Only thing I would think about is the Hive fleet choice for your kraken detachment. I guess your using the opportunistic advance for the dimachaerons etc which gives them huge threat range and let's your troops get places faster. My only other thought would be to try leviathan or custom fleet with +1 to hit on charge for monsters and regen 1 wound per turn. Either of these would make your list more durable but at the expense of movement speed. Have you tried different fleets?

On second thought, you are paying a lot for the single kronos exocrine and I wonder if it is really worth it. Is there a plan with the lictors in the kronos detachment? I think they benefit more from kraken or suggested custom fleet.

I haven't used venomthropes for ages, I just always preferred the malanthrope. Do they work well in your list or do people just pop one so they don't buff the monsters in your list?

I haven't tried the custom fleet yet but yeah kracken for speed. The exo is amazing you also get the kronos strat so they can only use one dice to cast spells
And symbiostorm of course

The venoms are all go just still them behind obscuring terrain and can use deploy scrabelers

I may try the custom fleet but it only complements 4 models in my army

so couple thoughts, the first is because you are so heavy melee big bug focused. does the exocrine require the dermic? without it you can save a cp and use that for just in game. i imagine that most times your opponent will shoot their heavy weapons at dimacheron/swarmlord.

And have you had good work with the horror psychic power over something like paraxysm to seems a bit more corner case but super important that it exists when you need it?

Hey, this list looks pretty good, I've played a pretty similar one. I agree with kinginyellow's comment about dermic symbiosis. I think if you position your exocrine right, along with the threat overload from the other monsters, your exocrine can usually stay safe.

I also agree that 2 CP for a Kronos detachment is a lot for 1 exocrine - I'd suggest going in for another exocrine. I personally think another exocrine would be better than the maleceptor. I've also been running one big unit of Genestealers with Kraken recently and been liking that - they can go 20" and charge without swarmlord, so nice to have one more threat, and an infantry unit like stealers can do things monsters can't sometimes - also ob-sec on them allows you to steal objectives.

Yeah I I have also been think of second exocrine instead of maleceptor. But do you think if I run two to keep one with dermic? I can out flank with one.
Hows the survivability of the stealers tho I used to use them alot but I have 60 gathering dust now but weighing in at 300 pts there pretty steep

I agree on dropping the maleceptor i think the same is true of the venomthropes (though i like the models). After turn one you'll have at least one monster outside the bubble never mind the Kronos part.

Either for 100 points more troops or drop the 10 man termagant, switch the BL to a Neuro and get a third exocrine.

I'll switch maleceptor for exo

With the venoms tho we need some protection from multimelta alpha strikes
Eg drop pod or 9 attack bikes
The can also hold primary and deploy scrambles t1

I agree with the drop the maleceptor and add another exo debate. I personally don't think the Maleceptor -1 strength strategem is worth it unless you go all in... like take all Kraken (filled with monsters and OpSec), get the Strategem off and charge the enemy lines quick. And take ZERO KRONOS and exocrines in the backfield because you committed all your focus on the monsters upfront. I think that's a more thematic and fun way to play Tyaranids but it may not be the most competitive way to run them???

Those 3 venomthropes are interesting. All the enemy has to do is kill 1 Venomthrope and then they can't buff the monsters with -1 to hit. But you do force them to shoot the Venomthropes instead of your monsters so I'd be interested to see how it all pans out.

Both of those examples are getting a -1 anyway. Edit: i had the move with HW incorrect in my head, a only infantry get the minus It also makes one more inclined to deploy in a certain way instead of playing what's in front of you. I think they can be worth it if they are protecting a good portion of your army for 4 turns but for 1 turn it's better to get two sets of scytal ag warriors minus the 2 gants.

The survivability of the stealers is real bad. But you can usually have one unit obscured behind a ruin and then run them out at the opportune time. Still playing with it. They murder hordes and if you can wrap a couple things they're great, but it's a lot of points so have to use them carefully.
