The dream: Fit 3 Dimachaerons into a Kraken detachment and still also take 2 Exocrines in Kronos.
The sacrifice: Not enough points for Hive Guard as well. Despite their points drop, they're still expensive. With nurgle coming back into fashion I think there will be more games where Hive Guard shooting just bounces off the target so perhaps the points are better spent elsewhere anyway.
The new hotness: Cheaper Devgants and Warriors allows us to fit in some 'weight of dice' for Necron Warriors, Orks and Eldar.
The List:
Kraken Battalion:
- Neurothrope: Catalyst, Warlord
- The Swarmlord: Onslaught, Psychic Scream
- 3 Rippers
- 26 Termagants w/ Devourers
- 9 Warriors w/ Boneswords, Enhanced Resistance
- Dimachaeron
- Dimachaeron
- Dimachaeron
Kronos Patrol:
- Neurothrope: Symbiostorm, Resonance Barb
- 3 Rippers
- Lictor
- Lictor
- Exocrine
- Exocrine
1998 points and 10 CP
I'm only taking the free Adaptive Physiology here to save the CP. The second Physiology would go on 1 of the Dimachaerons for regenerating wounds or 1 of the Exocrines for Dermic Symbiosis but I don't think it's worth it. The Dimachaerons are going to want as much CP as possible. That's another reason to not take Hive Guard. They're only effective with double shooting, and I won't have that much CP to go around if I'm also dumping CP into the Dimachaerons for double advancing, double attacking and rerolling wounds.
Turn 1, the Dimachaerons can be thrown into my opponent's face to movement block him. 1 gets a double move from the Swarmlord. 1 gets double advance from Kraken. And the other get Metabolic Overdrive. Together, they can form a really large movement-blocking wall. With Onslaught cast on the Advancing Dima, 2 of them can charge into combat.
If I dont get first turn, then I expect 1 Dima to die. If 2 die then I may be in deep trouble but that's how any list with 3 Dimas will go. 2 Dimas can still do a decent amount of damage and the Exocrines are free to shoot.
