After the Brood Swarm Christmas?

I've picked up one of the Battleforce box sets to start my Xenos army and might have a lineon a second.

My question is what is the optimal method for expanding on one of the Christmas Brood Swarms and what fleet would work best with that start?

Edit: My initial idea if I can get the second Battleforce box is to attempt to get  Start Collecting box set and try the following.

I really would like to have room for Warriors just because I like the models but the only thing I want to give up for them would be the Gargoyles (which I don't like) and Ripper Swarms (which I also like) ... to be clear, by like I mean I like the models.

Pretty sure the Gargoyles are DoA as trade material and one of those Hive Tyrants can be made into a Swarmlord unless I'm mistaken? So yeah points are tumbling around.

I use Army Painter Colored Primer paints and I'm thinking an Army Green skin and Chaotic Red for the carapace with swords and talons using Necrotic Flesh. AP has an "Alien Purple" colored primer but I'm thinking that might be too much contrast (?). Undecided, I just wish the rattle can was slightly darker looking.

With this much genestealers I would say kraken. Consolidating the hive guards into one squad so that they eat less cp with shoot twice stratagem. If you are playing matched a single lictor for secondaries is good or a neurothrope so that you can play a bit with hive fleet chronos. Check the adaptation rules they do wonders.

the sprees for hive tyrant also make a swarmlord solid choice aswell.

Thanks. I think I'll knock the Genestealers down to 15/16 and use those points other places such as Lictors. Need me some Action Monkeys and I assume Swarms can't do Actions?

Appreciate the heads up on the Swarmlord. It's hard to separate a lot of this stuff out compared to Imperium units/wargear.

Good call on consolidating the Hive Guard. Im pretty sure at the rate they are going GW will have a huge incentive not to mix Fleets in the new Codex.

(I really want to trade away those Gargoyles)
