Battle forge discussion and bugs

I played around with the battle forge. It looks pretty but is a bit clunky to use to assign relics, etc. It's also riddled with bugs. I found over 5 tyranid issues in about 5 minutes. Please discuss what you think and if you've found issues.


Here's the bugs I typed up to GW:

There are numerous bugs in the tyranid list building
1. Adaptive physiologies should be able to be applied to any tyranid unit
2. The strategem for adaptive physiologies is missing
3. The adaptive physiology warlord trait should allow the physiology to be applied to any unit
4. Non monster warlords adaptive physiologies are missing
5. Broodbrothers should not be able to be included in a tyranid hive fleet detachment
6. Resonance barb is missing from the list of available relics
7. Custom hive fleets are currently unavailable

I haven't gotten to play with this yet but man some of those sound BASIC! I almost wonder if they messed up and made it for our 9th ed codex instead of the 8th ed one we have. Nids getting Brood Brothers would be neat but that is kinda GSC's special thing and should remain so.

Yeah... They're fundamental bugs! (So GSC I guess? Ha).

As a note, imperium factions are much better off in terms of bugs. For example, you can select tank aces as a strat for a non character russ. I definitely think they focused their testing efforts on imperium first.

Hilariously, you can't take the GSC brood brothers units in GSC dets.

Huh, just going on what someone posted on discord (and screenshot definitely was missing BB stuff).

Most of those aren't bugs, the bug is that you can take the warlord trait as an AP even though (and this is the important part) The tyranids codex doesn't have that information, it's in the PA:Blood of Baal book.

So far the only thing I've seen that's wrong is you can't flyrant and some pictures are wrong (default gaunt photo is spinefists instead of fleshborer)

As of when I wrote my post, I could only select an adaptive physiology on my warlord if that warlord was a monster. Adaptive physiology as a warlord trait allows the physiology to be applied to any unit. This wasn't accounted for in the app. Additionally, the progeny strat giving you an extra adaptive physiology didn't exist. These are in blood of baal which the full app unlocks, but don't show up in battle forge. As noted, tank aces strat showed up.

TLDR; these are bugs.

You still need to have purchased the book in order for the information within it to be unlocked in the app.

We technically cannot have those rules if you don't have the book.

I can see why they want this for, make it an official app of 40k tournaments and you will be forced to purchase all the books anyhow because they'll just deny any unit in your army they can't see the data sheet of, and you cannot have the info from something you dont own. (Dima/barbed/scythed are all locked although within nid roster because IA:Compendium)

Pretty sure they'll withdraw tank ace rules if my madness truly has method within their halls

They only have unlock codes for new codexes. The old rule books are unlocked via the subscription. Source included below.

None of the issues I'd pointed out were fixed. Guessing they had numerous bugs reported to them and that this is going to take until February or later to be relatively bug free.

They did smooth out some of the clunky parts of the interface, which is nice.

They said they added Hive Fleet Adaptations in the last update, but I haven't found them yet.

No adaptive physiologies for other units than your warlord either yet.

Thanks! I was wondering if I should have checked it out again but didn't want to waste my time writing bug reports for them. Sounds like it was a good idea to not test their app.
