Hello! Need some advice for my first 40k game. I've played a decent amount of Kill Team but this is the first time I'm playing 40k with my friends. We're doing a narrative crusade using the new rule book and starting off with 500 pts.
The list below is something I came up with what I have so far. I will be playing against a Evil Suns Orks and a Raven Guard Space Marines successor chapter (Both players are more experienced than me). We are starting with 500pts and moving up as the narrative builds.
++ Patrol Detachment 0CP (Tyranids) [27 PL, 500pts] ++
+ Configuration +
Detachment CP
+ HQ +
Tyranid Prime [5 PL, 84pts]: Deathspitter, Lash Whip and Bonesword, Warlord
+ Troops +
Termagants [3 PL, 50pts]
. 10x Termagant (Fleshborer): 10x Fleshborer
Termagants [3 PL, 50pts]
. 10x Termagant (Fleshborer): 10x Fleshborer
Tyranid Warriors [8 PL, 129pts]
. Tyranid Warrior: Boneswords, Deathspitter
. Tyranid Warrior: Boneswords, Deathspitter
. Tyranid Warrior: Deathspitter, Lash Whip and Bonesword
. Tyranid Warrior (Bio-cannon): Boneswords, Venom Cannon
+ Elites +
Hive Guard [6 PL, 150pts]
. 3x Hive Guard (Impaler): 3x Impaler Cannon
Lictor [2 PL, 37pts]: Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws
++ Total: [27 PL, 500pts] ++
I think I'll be running the crusade as Kraken or Leviathan, but Kronos might seem good since I'm currently starting off pretty shooty. My main concerns is how to take out the shooty ork boyz horde when playing against the orks, I think I should run Genestealers instead perhaps, but they're pretty costly for the first 500 pt game.
The space marine player is already talking smack lol. For him, I'm seeking any advice on dealing with his reivers (hes very prideful about them) and infiltrators I think. Any advice on this list is appreciated and if you can also help me think of what to add when the point limit starts going up.
Aside from what I've listed, I have another 3 warriors, more termagants and some hormagaunts, 3 Neuro/Zoanthropes (plan on getting more), Trygon Prime, genestealers, and a broodlord. The game is pretty loose in the sense that I can use my trygon model but run it as a mawloc if need be.
Im thinking eventually getting carnifexes would be good for dealing with the MEQ and TEQs? For the tanks I can use the trygon and I'll hopefully have a swarmlord/hive tyrant by then.
Thanks!
