Behemoth 2000 point melee list.

I really am being stubborn (probably illogically stubborn) in just not wanting to run the essential hive guard and exocrines. So could this work? Is all melee Bugs enough anti-meta that it could work?

Very basic list:

Hive Fleet Behemoth:

HQ:
—Swarmlord
—Broodlord with resonance barb
—Broodlord

Troops:
—16 genestealers—toxin sacs
—16 genestealers—toxin sacs
—15 genestealers
—10 hormogaunts
—10 termagaunts
—10 termagaunts

Elites:
—5 zoanthropes

Fast attack:
—10 gargoyles

Heavy:
—3 biovores

Biovores are there for movement disruption. Genestealers with toxin sacs can delete a lot when they have the Behemoth psychic ability. Gargoyles and hormogaunts are there for secondaries such as targeting scramblers.

I’d drop a broodlord and some stealers for a super flyrant. Don’t think you can afford to be cagey with the broodlords for wwswf anyway. Take it for a spin and see what happens. The games where the stealers get deleted you’re just gonna be massively behind since they cost so many points now and will have trouble trading well when they can’t wrap and trap reliably.

Oh, I wouldn’t touch wwswf with anything less than three neutothropes anyway.

Good points. As much as I want this to work, going second is potentially lethal if my opponent decided to bring a fair number of blast weapons.

Doesnt even have to be blast, just 24+" range. Stealers arent durable by any stretch of the imagination and they need to be deployed aggressively to do anything. Ts might be worth dropping to boost numbers of hormagaunts.
