Abberrants with ovethrow. How many attacks?

An abberrant has 2 attacks with picks getting 2 more with rending claws. Lets say i play overthrow the oppressor. I roll a 6 with a pick, do get one pick and one claw or just one pick? Is this clarified somewhere?

For each attack you make with the hammer, you can make an extra with the claw.

Extra attacks with the hammer are still attacks with the hammer.

You make an attack with the pick, you get a claw attack. So if you get an extra attack with the pick you get an extra claw attack.

Same as a weapon with "make 2 hit rolls for each attack" will let you make 2 rolls when you get an extra attack. (this one is adressed with Mortarion's scythe in the Deathguard faq for example).

I err on the side of no on this. You make an additional hit roll. I didn't think that's an additional attack but can see the argument for it. A FAQ is definitely in order.

One sentence later, these are called additional attacks. 


Until the end of the phase, each time

you roll an unmodified hit roll of 6 for an attack by a

model in that unit, that model can immediately make an

additional hit roll against the same target using the same

weapon. These bonus attacks cannot themselves generate

any further attacks.

Assuming that it's a bonus attack, then yes you get another Pick attack and another Claw attack because of the Pick attack. 

On an amusing note, it also means you get an extra Claw attack when you you roll and proc it on the Claw portion. So Claws get x2 chances to explode. This is one of the reasons why a BC Abberant squad is actually something that's possibly in contention even after being nerfed so badly. The issue is of course, that we cant get S8 so you're never getting a good WOUND roll, and making it into combat is still as hard as before. 

Abominant's one does not stack with this - meaning you'd get 2 hits per roll of 6 and an extra attack, rather than 2 extra attacks. *It's STILL a boatload of attacks together.*

On a side note - Abberrants FNP strategy is dumb. It's a fairly good effect, but hamstrung by a high cp cost and a strict use condition. I wouldnt even be sure if you could use it when they're in "Ambush" on the table.

I saw that as well. I wasn't sure if GW was going to consider extra attacks differently (most of the time it's written that these extra attacks cannot generate extra attacks). I think GW tends to err on the side of "no" which is part of the reason I've played it that way. Additionally, I'd rather not get into rules arguments so I just go with "no." I'm hoping they FAQ this, but they tend to FAQ three times a year so it will be a while.

I stipulate that the statement within Rule A is only used for the weapon attacking, using the rules for how to fight with weapons. You arent making extra attacks with the same weapon, its just giving the the option to attack with another weapon in the amount that you made with the previous.
