Your very first post! So let me just say welcome to the forum! In general, it does not get to heated here. And while many forums have migrated to facebook in general. This forum is good IMHO.

You say you are new to GSC. But how experieced are you in 40K? The reason I am asking, is because it will gretaly inform what you will get back. GSC is always a fringe army, in the way that they play very diffelently then any other army in 40K. (The differense between SM and CSM is not so big, as say SM and GSC.)

Bad news, general consensus is that GSC is in a rough place. That beeing said, as long as you play to your streaghts you can still perform well. 9th edition is still in early days, but playing to objectives is really important. In fact there seems to be two schools of 40K these days. Killing your opponents models, and playing to the objectives. How do you plan for you list to play?

In general I would be doubtfull for two detachments unless you really need them. I know rusted claw has some bike shenanigangs, the famous bike bomb. However it was really priced through the roof, so I do not know if it is viable.

If you have acess to Greater Good, the stratagems in there in general really suports 3 ridgerunners really well. If you go that rout consider a Alpha on a bike to give them BS3+. It is a very common build. The reason it is really common is that our codex has very few unit entries. Not alle perform the same task, and not all of them are priced reasonably. (Looking at you aberants and metamorphs.) Riderunners is the only good long distance anti tank weapon we have that has the cult creed. So GW are sho-horning us into that unit in our lists.

Are the chaches of democharges in the trucks worth it? How often do they come up? Ideally you can use a unit with high BS in there, but I suppose the hyrbids never leave them? But the range is really short.

Also, the people who run the numbers on handflamers say they are very bad vs marines. And marines are what you meet in general. But if you need to clear screens it can be considered.

Thanks for the reply! and yes I've been playing abit in 7th and quit because have some issue, and play 1 or 2 game in 8th when Tau is a thing and vs Tau and decide to stop playing again, at the end of 8th I start again and collecting the cheapest army, Custodes and apparently they are super good in this edition. Already play more games in 9th compare to 7th and 8th combine I like the game now, objective game rather than bring your best unit.
That been said I want to play objective based game and I know GSC in the rough spot and that's the reason I want to start my 2nd army and I like the models. A couple of secondaries look interesting for GSC and I think GSC is good for denying opponent points.

I know ridgerunner is one of our best unit now but I capped myself 4 ridgerunners for now, I can change my mind. Flamer is for screening unit or killing enemy units that hug objective, I agree flamer is situational. democharges is filler points I dont know what to use them.

I build one other list with brigade detachment but I have hard time to fill HS slot and I try to stay pure GSC as possible.
