Cant Decide what to do with the last points or Hive Fleet?

I have 135pts left to spend on this list and don't know what else to put into the list. I could throw in a unit of 3 zoanthropes or maybe some gaunts? I also dont know if Leviathan is a great choice for this list. I just liked the idea of 6++ to help with some wounds. I have also thought about swapping the Tyrannofexs with Exocrines which would give me 210 pts to play with.

I plan on using the rippers to hold backline objs and use the warriors, Prime and Tyrannofex's to push and control the mid board while using the Tyrants for whatever else support is needed.

I’d look at secondaries.

Put in either three lictors to nearly guarantee scramblers or a Neurothrope for psychic interrogation/ritual.

List looks good to me.

I’d add 2x10 gants for screening hive guard and holding home obj. Then a lictor for secondaries. Might need to adjust the warrior squad with a scything talon on one. You can expect at least one to get shot so don’t need lash whip on all of them. In fact I’d change a couple for boneswords. I think you’re better of with MRC than ST on flyrants. Might even be enough room for something else with changing that and warriors. Maybe pyrovore/lictor/gant

I was thinking about lictors but wasnt quite sure since I have only played a couple 9th games so far. Which one do you think would be stronger for secondaries? To include the Neurothrope I would have to drop the prime or make a new attachment so maybe the lictors would be a stronger choice?

You bring up a good point about some being shot off the board. Im curious to the reasoning that MRCs are better than ST?

That makes sense, if you don’t want to mess about with extra detachments I’d just take the three lictors.

You bring up a good point about some being shot off the board. Im curious to the reasoning that MRCs are better than ST? 

MRC gives you free reroll to wounds and they are free! For hybrid flyrants they do enough without bumping the price on a unit that can get blasted in 1 shooting phase. MST are only worth it in pairs for the extra A or as the behemoth relic option Scythes of Tyran.

New List from the suggestions. Dropped the MST for MRC and added 3 lictors and a hormagaunt squad (for more obj holding/screening I suppose I dont know what else to do with them). I put the flesh hooks on the Tyranid Prime because I was 3 pts short and didnt know what else to do with it. I also swapped in 3 Scything Talons to the warrior as suggested for shooting causalities and 3 bone swords for more attacks.

Looks ready for a test run, take it for a spin and see what works. I think the prime might not be worth it with only 1 submaxed unit, could be replaced with more chaff or meiotic spores to mess with enemy movement. Maybe squeeze in that 3rd venom cannon by doing barebones prime (or dropping it), gaunts -> gants or tweaking warrior unit more.

You may be right I have a couple variation lists that include 2 more 5 man stacks of warriors. I also have a couple lists that use pyovores instead of lictors for mid board bullying but we will get to that when I can play it.

Alright as an update I ended up going 5-1 with this list (4 online 2 in person). The lists I played are



Wins: Orcs, Dark Eldar, Death Guard, Imperial Guard, Space Marines (Dark Angels), Space Marines (Ultramarines)

Loss: Custodes Soup (with imperial guard)



A couple notes the Tyrannofexs/warrior combo is a really strong mid board bully, I found even space marine opponents have issues with dealing with everything. Because of the large amount of threats they were often confused on what to shoot first. My Tyrants were typically shot off the board first, so maybe I need to replace them with different models? With 3 lictors I was able to max out the secondary every game and with the mid board bullies I was able to secure max main obj points.



Some weaknesses I saw while playing the backline is very weak and its hard to stop people from deep striking into the back and destroying units. I found you can at least control them away from the hive guard.



I would like to try adaptations of this list with Exocrines instead of Tyrannofex's and more gribbies. I believe that list would have more potentional for killing but less control over objectives. I ve also come ot accept that you are going to lose all of your untits in a game but playing to objectives I believe is our strength right now. Get all those points early and its hard for some armies to do anythign about it. Also this list has a problem with killing vehicles so maybe exocrines well assist with this?
