My ork opponent ran.

3 groups of 10 boyz
(1 Badruk
10 Flasgitz)
In 1 trukk
1 Morkanaut with sparkly bitz
(1 Warboss
10 Nobz)
In 1 Battlewagon
2 Burna Bombaz
1 Weirdboy
5 Jump Boyz.

We are playing Resupply. I have Secure Landing Sites, Deploy Scramblers and Behind Enemy Lines. He has Secure Landing Site, Linebreaker and Bring It Down.

Game starts he gets first turn.

His turn 1. Has a hard time landing planes due to how GSC markers works. Finaly flyes by and bombs my hive guards.Advances with battlewagon and the morkanaut.

Takes 5 wounds of my leman russ. Kills 3 warriors. Kills 5 Hive guards.

My turn 1. I kill The Bonebreaker. Manage to kill the morkanaut with my hive tyrant in melee with it. (Morkanaut had 3 wounds left, I have to re-roll the wound roll.)

His turn 2. Airplanes fly of. Flashgits shoots a lott. He charges my warlord with his nobs and leader.

My turn 2 I kill most of his significant units.

His turn 3. He ends on around 25 points and has a hard time getting more (or he choses not to.)

My turn 3. I only have 5 points when the turn starts.

How ever we are playing resupply. I remove everything except the jump boyz, 2 airplanes and 1 weirdboy. Score Linebreaker at end of turn brining me up to 9.

My opponent turn 4, he mulls it over a bit. And desides to surrender. He has 25 points, but very bad chances of getting more. I only have 9 points, but will get 8 more from linebreaker turn 4 and 5. 10 From Deploy Scramblers. Secure Landing sites will get me 12 more. And I would get 15 points turn 4 and 5 from main objective Ressuply.

I would have ended on

For a total of 62 points. He is at around 25.

I was planning on using 'Strategic Reserve' and score with my pyrovores and ripperswarm. How ever, ripper swarm can not Deploy Scramblers and it lacks infantery keyword. Strategic Reserves for Linebreaker is not so great, as I can not deploy on his teretory before turn 3 earliest. Also, actions can only be perfomed one each turn. So Deploy Scramblers is quite anoying to pull off during heat of battle. I woud perhaps consider a small units of GSC deepstriking, Lictor or Gargoyles for this. As they all have natural deepstrike and they are all infantery.

And am I playing it right. I can deepstrike on and then perform action with that unit?

Also, first turn just ate a lott of CP!

I started at 12. Had another detachement 2 CP. Outflanked pyrovores 1 CP. Enchanted warriors 1 CP.

Shoot twice with warriors (Hive guards where dead.) 2 CP
Raking Fire 1 CP
Overcharged Weaponry 1 CP
Pathogenic Slime on Tyranifex 2CP
Re-roll wound 1 CP
Re-roll wound in close combat 1 CP

That was all 12 CP in the first turn! Jikes. My acolyte hybrids did not have 3 CP for a perfect ambush. Not even close. I do not know if I can afford it if my games goes like this. (And I can not let that morkanaut or the battewagon surive hitting me!)

Its a combination of a bunch of units that all want to be fed CP. your naturally going to run out extremely fast.
Probably wouldn't have double shot the warriors, Venom cannons are not bad but not worth the 2 CP most of the time. Tho you hope your Hive Guard are still alive who use it instead so in the end it doesn't change anything.

Raking Fire is probably something I would skip, and maybe the Slime. that gives you the CP for a PA.
Or do something like drop the Mortar team (I always found them extremely lackluster) and the Rock Drill for a Clamavus for a 7" charge. save 1 CP for a re-roll and you should reasonably reliably get them in.

The clavmagus sugestion in 4 armed emperor might not be a bad tipp. Now I only need to charge 7.

I would usually use the shoot twice stratagem on hiveguards, but only 1 was left. Turns out after Saga of the Beast orks can shoot.

Double fire with the warriors is well worth, and was worth it there. 4 'heavy bolters' shots on nobs and 3 venom cannon shots on the morkanaut. On averadge 3 warriors with venom cannon near an alpha with clear line of sight is just the same averadge math as 3 hive guards. A morkanaut has to die before it reached non-chaff units. It is a really strong model once it gets BS4+.

Played the same list again.

Mission 13.

Opponent got first turn. I lost 5 hive guards, 4 gaunts, 3 mortar team and 7 warriors turn one.

Cassualties came from two dakkajets (imposible to get cover from with their mobilaty) morkanaught with shiny bits (bs4) ten flahs gits who got to shoot again twice (although they shot warriors who ignored AP and made it damage 1, so not that bad) and 30 boys who made da jump.

I had my units standing to close together, also I drove my ridgerunners to far forward, they got charged. (Disembarking 3 from transport + walk, run and charge was enough to reach them.)

I felt I was stil in the game after the bad turn 1, but things kept going badly for me. By end of my opponents turn 3 I had 2 pyrovores and 3 ripperswarm models left and 10 points.

I tryed behind enemy lines, raise the banners and while we stand we fight.

While we stand we fight is a 'winn more'. Probably good in a tournament where you acumulate points between rounds. Very had here.

Raise the banners gave me 1 point. Probably very bad against orks who are in my space. Also, it messed up my units once my 'capping units' where dead.

Behind eneny lines is OK. Best with natural deepstrikers. Steer away from the general outflanking stratagem.

Also, my heavy venom cannon/monstrus claw flyrant is very bad vs orks. There are no good targets for him in melee. He is mostly a very exapensive gun. Also the warrior Alpha is very hard to hide from dakkajets while stil giving bonuses to warriors and not mess up their unit coherensy. Not sure I would use them both again.

Rippers have DS. No Infantry limits them, but they still work fine for engage/linebreaker/objectives.

It depends on your list. Most of the lists that want to run it have <9 wound Characters as their WWSWF. Which means you can often just hide them behind stuff/terrain and as long as you don't get completely slaughtered with your opponent having the mobility to chase them down, you still get points for it. Where as a lot of other secondaries you'll also struggle to get if you're losing that bad. Which is where deploy scramblers is generally good, since you can complete it in 3 turns from DS.

I agree for your list it's a bad 'win more' secondary.
