Bols article, fast units to claim objective. Sentinels?

BoLS had an article fast units to claim objectives. It is not so well written and brings uo units that are really exspensive like the DE vyper.

While it is probably only an article to fill out the daily colums it made we wonder if scout sentinels have a home for grabing objectives before turn 1. What do you think?

They mention ridgerunners as well. But they mostly shoot at stuff, to exspensive to just grab objectives I think.

Their huge downside is that they have the "Vehicle" keyword, and thus gives up points for the Bring it Down secondary real easy. If you have few- to none other vehicles in your list, then they might be viable. Otherwise, BC bikes with the 5+ FNP BC spell performs the same task better in my opinion.

Gotta see how the game shakes out, but going all in vehicle is not too bad. You give away full Bring it Down, but if you have 20++VP of it giving you good value you don't really care.

My mates and I are thinking it might be good - scout sentinels with HF Barrelling into enemy ObSec T1, or using scout move just to get a better position. They move fast and can contest the Transport Rush tactic if going 2nd. I'm thinking of a 3 Sent team going in with HF to really burn things out of the way. Ridgerunners can do the same since they have scout move, but have way better guns and shooting and can have the 5+++ like Bikers and benefit from being vehicles, but you wouldn't use them for suicide grabs as often as Sent.

I’ve been thinking about this myself. Would you run them as 3 to one objective or split them up to get to more than 1?

As for the 5+++, not sure id want to give up re-roll 1’s from a hive cult alphus. Particularly if I have a flare launcher already. But it’s a tough choice.

If you have detachment slots to spare I think there is merit to running sentinels in singles. When opponent decides to shoot them there’s protection against overkill which could opponent to over/undercommit the amount of shots allocated to a single sentinel.
