Impalers shooting through a Forrest?

Played 9:th ed today. One question was raised by new terrain. When shooting through or into a Forrest (light cover) you get -1. Does this apply to barrage weapons like impalers? RAW it woood affect them but it feels unintended. Any rulings been seen?

Check the new CA book, towards the back there is a 'Rare Rules' section. It has this situation there in detail.

But to answer the question, Hive Guard's Impalor Cannons 'ignore armour save bonuses from cover'. According to CA, this means they ignore Light and Heavy Cover effects but not Dense Cover's -1 to hit.

Just to clarify though, the heavy cover rule only applies to melee attacks, so actually the impaler cannon only affects light cover. Also talk it out with your opponent; a lot of forests are not 3" tall and so wouldn't apply to forests. The forests GW uses as an example of dense cover are 3" tall. No one wants the feels bads because it wasn't discussed.
