Sporemines and actions?

Can sporemines perform actions? What if we could Raze objectives with sporemines. Wouldn’t that be fun? Until it is FAQ’ed I suppose its valid, right?

Isn’t actions just infantry? Spore don’t have that keyword. Also, can they generate victory points? It says in the rules that they are discounted for the purpose of VP.

Some actions are inf only, some are units. Like Raze. I suppose they will be bannad from doing this, but right now it is a grey area.

Spore mines are discounted for the purposes of any victory conditions. That’s straight from the rules on page 99 of the codex. Since secondary objectives are victory conditions they would be ignored when trying to score them.

It could be read as the spore mines themselves are discounted for any victory points/victory conditions, but nothing really discounts them from performing actions, and those actions are what are giving you victory points. As an example - a spore mine could not score Recon, but a kill with a spore mine scores towards Butchers Bill.

Not that I'm advocating to do it, I do think it's silly.

Joking of course but... I would be more surprised that a tyranid felt the need to raise a colored sheet on a stick (the banner) than that it managed to do so.
