Hi everyone,
Been years since I tried a Xeno's race and been spending most my time painting blood bowl and getting my painting station up.
So when I walked upon a video about painting Tyranid's I started to remember all the awesome lore I have read about them over the last 20+ yrs.
I decided it was time to push my limits and try to use my air brush for more than just base coating.
And with that in mind I decided to start a test model and see which highlights worked and colours/mid-tones.
I figured if I started a thread it would also push me to carry on no matter how many mistakes I have made (there has been a lot!)
So without further ado I present Hive Fleet Lammergeier (after my favourite bird of prey)
I decided to start on the base while I looked up videos and ideas and while unsure on the environment at this time I wanted it to look like it was changing or infected and being slowly taken over or at least have the top layer unstable due to the horrors below.
I tried to choose the colours based around the animal and wanted to just use my air brush bar a few highlights and other details.( this is changing as the process drives on)
Plus I really want to play a few games with the army so it has to look good(ish) and be quick/effective.
So far I am happy with the results bar some Gentleman Parts ups, like going over the mid-tone or to much final highlight (damn you white!)
And since this is the first time on the air brush I am quite happy ...kinda.
Anyway I hope you all like the work so far(not much I know but only started it a few days ago) and any advice or constructive criticism would be welcome.
Bye for now,
Ryu.
