This is the almost exactly the same as mine approach to Behemoth battalion in place of Kraken one.

Same generic principle as seen in other recent lists. Double GS bomb and hope to avoid marines/not go second.

I bet for every of these lists that you see score high you can find serveral that got less lucky and end up in the middle or bottom of the field because they ate a Thunderfire Cannon and just strait up lost then and there.

Man you guys are hard to please. Yeah sorry my list is so generic on paper but there's a lot of room for catering to my opponents' list and mission with the relic choices and adaptations pregame. I went 2nd in most of these games. Genestealers are basically a distraction. My opponents were so focused on killing them turn 1 that they didn't see the Strength 8, AP 4, 4 damage beast with fly hiding behind them that can move 32" with Swarmlord's help. I also won an RTT 2 weeks prior facing off against Space Marines (one piloted by Daniel Paolini who is rank 13 in ITC). And yeah, I had to go first to win, but that's how tournaments work sometimes. I faced him again this past weekend and did not win first turn so I lost. That's just the current state of the game. As Tyranids, our choices are so limited that we need a little luck to win right now. The trick is to make sure that when you do get that little bit of luck, your list is capable of capitalizing on it.

Those Lord of Skulls could easily shoot me off the table with all their buffs so I had to play very cagey. I also needed to win the roll off for choosing sides because of how we placed terrain (In Adepticon missions, the players place the terrain).

Pregame choices that game were: Scythes of Tyran and Murderous Size on the Flyrant, Dermic Symbiosis on the Exocrine and Pathogenesis on the Dakka Flyrant.

A lot happens pre-game. For most matchups I'll take Scythes of Tyran and Murderous Size on the Behemoth Flyrant. But there are games where he will take Venomthorn Parasites instead for Assault 3 HVC. I didn't do that in this tournament but I've done it against the more common Eldar lists with Shining Spears and Skyweavers.

Against almost anything with artillery (thunderfires) I'll take Enhanced Resistance on the Hive Guard instead of Dermic Symbiosis on the Exocrine.

This tournament was for Adepticon Missions. The main thing about those missions is that the focus is on objectives instead of killing like in ITC. And you only score objectives at the beginning of your turn (so whatever units you put on an objective need to survive until the next turn). With that in mind, I did not try to push board control as much as I would in ITC. I used terrain and tried to take 2 or 3 objectives while positioning myself in a place where I could pounce on my opponent when he tried to move to an objective. As long as I could remove my opponent from at least 1 objective while holding 2 of my own then I could win. I didn't score a lot of points in most of my games which is why I didn't go up against Space Marines. Most of the Space Marine matches were lopsided one way or another. (This wasn't calculated but that's how it worked out). So in the end I placed 2nd due to 5 rounds and 64 players, despite going 5 and 0. 

In ITC things are a bit different. The Tyrannocyte served a double purpose in Adepticon because it kept the Exocrine safe turn 1 AND it put itself on an objective making it a target that my opponent MUST remove despite having other more high value targets to shoot at. In ITC, the Tyrannocyte can sit on an objective and my opponent doesn't care because the objectives don't matter as much. So I'm going to change up the list a bit for ITC.

My friends were just talking about this list and how the Exocrene is good - its not sarcasm, but eh. 

I think it's a big deal when you have Genestealers - they are a threat yes, and people will shoot them dead as often as they can. If there is enough LOS blocking terrain for them to move up and tank a few Artillery rounds of fire (meaning no infantry burning direct shots) then that's workable though. Especially if there's a ruin you can hide in and the central blocker is close enough you can place them in there - safely hide two units of GS, or the unit of GS and a HG. As Behemoth it's a little bit of a given they're not the main slingshot by default, but most people dont know that. They make great area holders. 

The Flyrant is a nice tech pick, but I do find it odd that the Super Flyrant can go in and just murder stuff. I've never seen a Flyrant actually murder enough things to make people freak out about it being there. Tends to just die after it kills the 1 thing so far. 

Regardless tho, good job on the 5-0, I think FotHM have a real chance at being top tier right now for some reason. The basis of most of our lists are working (strong gunline via HG/Exo combo with a decent forward presence) out well I think.

Good work! It encouraging for the rest of us! People tend to have problems accepting when others succed with lists they themself fail with. You proved it is possible. Now it is up tobthe rest of us to repeat it.

I assume that when you use the Venomthorn Parasites, you save the CP and don't opt to keep the Murderous Size Adaptive Physiology on this Flyrant? Or do you find the melee profile still viable even without getting to S8?
