Rules questions (biovores and reserves)

1. When firing and missing all shots with a unit of 3 biovores you will create 3 spore mines. Will these spore mines be one single unit or will it be 3 separate units?

2. Say that you are going second and having parts of your army in reserve. In your opponent's turn 2 you lose all models you had left on the board - will you still be able to play out your player turn in battle round 2 and bring in the reserves or are you considered to have lost both all reserves and the game?

1. Three separate units. Each hit roll is rolled and evaluated separately technically.

2 depends on if you're using acceptable casualties (or similar rule) or not. By sudden death, yes, you no longer have models on the table at the end of a the turn, and it's not the first battle round, so you lose.

No. You cannot move after coming in from reserves (which node is) outside of charge etc.

Are you sure on this? I never risk being tabled on turn 1 so I don't remember specifically, but I have a vague remembrance of a rule where starting on round 2 if you had no models you were tabled.

EDIT: Yes, it's on page 215 of BRB. It's point number 2. AFTER the first battle round.

EDIT 2: It's still in the FAQ. Any round after the first.

It's my bad. And jeesh, I didn't even remember that you don't get to bring your reserves in. I mean if you are having that bad of day it's game over anyway as you gave up kill more and hold more and first 2 turns, but that is more severe than I remembered.

You have to be careful of the system you are playing because for example (unless its changed) ETC has NO Sudden death at all, you can be tabled at any time and still bring reserves on and keep playing.  ITC in 2019 had a harsher version of sudden death then the BRB (almost caught me once with GSC since I had so little on the board).  ITC USED to say (new rules don't mention it but I know its a WIP) that if you were tabled at ANY time (except R1) you auto lost, so if you go 2nd with GSC and between the opponents T1 and T2 they table what you have on the board you Don't even get to bring on reserves T2 and save yourself, you are just done.  We had to ask the TO and my opponent was right and he tried to do it but failed... but still crushed me anyways lol.

Not necessarily, since you'd still have stuff coming in BR 2 to contest T2 kill/hold. Except for sudden death, anyway.

Sudden death is end of any turn though: so if you go 2nd and your opponent tables you outside of 1st battle round, you lose at the end of their turn. Before you get a chance to bring on reserves.

You are correct that ETC (and all CA missions) don't use sudden death, having acceptable casualties.
