I'm going crazy here and just really like playing wonky lists which can have a strength all their own if your opponent has no idea what you're doing. Having said that I'm trying out a board control list centered around a tervigon that hopefully is extremely tough to shift.
First battalion
Tervigon with dermic symbiosis and WLT depending on matchup
Malanthrope
3x30 gants
Second battalion
Swarmlord
Barebones prime
20 stealers
27 hormagaunts
9 warriors (6 ds/bs 3 st/vc)
Maleceptor
240 reinforcement points
The list plays very defensive. Wall of bodies that are all - 1 to hit and - 1 strength for ranged attacks. If the opponent tries to negate those advantages by attacking in cc the tervigon has the death shriek which can stack with caustic blood strat. 30 gaunts could do potentially 10 mortal wounds on average if I position them right. Only model that needs to hide is swarm lord so hopefully that's doable.
If I get first turn I have a stealer sling. If I get second I should hold more for most of the game. The list only has 11 drops so kill more shouldn't be more than 2 turns for my opponent unless I'm getting tabled. The reinforcement points could literally be anything. Most likely the warriors or stealers. But could be 60 gaunts or 18 spore mines if I want to throw all my cp at it. But most likely the stealers are my opponents first priority which once killed will outflank and charge again. But waiting till turn 4 and 5 to bring in two big blobs of gaunts could be powerful board control. Maleceptor has dominion to keep the reserves fearless as the Maleceptor is normally the last big bug to be targeted.
On secondaries I'm honestly hoping my opponent chooses gang buster and kingslayer. Obviously I give full reaper every game. But the tervigon and the warriors are both the most durable units in the army.
Very little killing power but we lose the killing game to Marines 10/10 times so this list plays a different game.
