9 ridgerunners, discuss

Has anyone tried 9 ridgerunners? with the 44" inch range they should be fairly survivable. Has anyone tried to spam these? Add 3x lascannon heavy weapons squad and you have a serious fire base.

I just built 3 and will be trying them as well as a bike swarm(not necessarily together, but maybe). I dont expect much out of them right now but they're so cheap. Why not try?

I gambled with 9 rigerunners. will try a list of 8 tomorrow. Bat (BC), Batt (Kro) and Outrider (HC). My own was maybe too extreme. I adapt a little more to colin's list.
The way I play reminds me very much of the vendetta (IG) lists when someone remembers it. Very easy to play to work well. Probably the first list I play with tyras + gsc
that prefers to have a free line of fire. The offensive is strong enough to kill other ranged armies if you start first. But I have e.g. won against necrons even though I
wasn't allowed to go first. It's funny when people try to hide their knight. But it's not that great if the knight is allowed to go first. I'm only sure at HG + RR + Neuros,
the rest is sometimes great and sometimes (please do not swear).

Lemme know how it goes. Are you using enhanced range? I think that’s definitely worth it. Can take on tau

It can take on tau.

Increased range is important.

You can use them to push forward deplotment down.

Someone sold me on 8 and taking a sanctus with either sniper relic or no overwatch relic on him to ensure genestealers can get in vs tau turn 2 for free.

I cannot take today's game to form an opinion. the colleague is new to the club, i understood he wanted to play harder and he came with a hardly optimized csm list,

where i explained to him what psychic awakening is. But it's my fault, as an experienced player, should have asked more precisely.

I used to play against tau a lot, but not really since moving a year ago. There are two people here who played Tau. One now plays sisters, the other sm. No One had

written that Colin won with his RR against Siegler´s tau. so I would say it works. But also with the restriction that you have to go first.

Have played with the spotter so far. However, the range of the jackal often gets in the way, since you need the +1 to hit. That's why I was thinking about trying 2x9

warriors or 3x5 zoans. However, I don't have enough zoans for that. The jackal feels like one of the biggest advantages and at the same time one of the biggest

disadvantages of the list.

For the record, Tau can still FTGG the 2nd charge if you deny OW on the first one. You best hope you can touch the guy with the scary OW on the first charge, which might not be too likely.

Well I just bought 9, trying to think of the best combo for them. With spotters and the scout move I think you can reliably hive-cult reroll 1s from turn one. Also potential 2s rerolling 1s with jackal and the hivecult stratagem for +2. Fliers good luck. But halfway tempted to leave them bladed cog so they have maneuverability as well. Once the CC beta strike comes down target priority could have them be valuable zoning component.

Ugh. That's a ton of $$$ for an unproven strategy. My biggest issue is how quickly the meta changes, unless you were wanting 9 anyway I don't think they will have much time in the meta. Chasing the meta is a suckers bet. By the time you get models bought, built, and painted it's often moved on. If SM get a big adjustment following LVO, you could be in for some dissapointment.

I've never played cookie-cutter list in tourneys. People are always confused when they play me, and even more confused when their deathguard/ironhands gets owned

You're not wrong, but toughness and save matter if you're in range. These boys stay far back, only a couple of shots will take out 1, maybe 2 a turn. Cfex, 3 dead a turn minimum because of range. Speaking of which, is scout move after you know who goes first or second? if not then I'll probalby just run BC to move without penalty. Then you are shooting full force without risk.
