3 Sporocysts in Hive Fleet Your Dudes (6+++ Stationary FnP and Synaptic Augmentation Reroll ability).  Grant one Sporocyst the Synaptic Enhancement to set up the hilarious Sporocyst Resonance Cascade.

Laugh maniacally as you generate 9 spore mines in the movement phase, up to 9 spore mines in the shooting phase while rerolling the 5+ to hit on spore nodes, and 15D6 Strangler Shots.

Use this wall to block any attempt that your opponent makes to move towards your significantly more effective Kronos firing line.

If it weren't for the fact that your opponent can just stroll up to one of the sporocysts and charge it with their entire army to prevent your kronos detachment shooting them, not a bad idea. but your opponent can do that, so it's bad haha. It might work comboing with zoanthrope smites or some close combat characters though.

Going to have a hard time living when all the sporemines you make in the movement phase explodes and wipes out a third of it

Add in a Gorgon detatchment for counter charges. Give one of your genestealers squads the heroic intervention adaptation. Take a neurothrope and pop the Gorgon psychic power. Back em up with a broodlord. If anyone charges, you heroically intervene hitting on 2s, rerolling 1s to wound, with an additional -1 AP.

A different option is to add on the +8" ranged weapon relic. My spore mine gun is now hitting at 17"

I'll admit that there would certainly be counterplay to this and these are not hardy enough to stand up to a full assault from anything that hits hard.  Luckily, Sporocysts can still fire their weapons even if there are opponents within 1" and I don't believe they have a big enough profile to allow more than one or two units to shield themselves in CC.  So long as these guys can stick around for 2 Turns, I believe they more than make up their points in wounds and damage.

This, of course, is all just for funzies.  Rarely have I seen Sporocysts have any real use but the new make your own hivefleet and Synaptic Enhancement made me laugh.

If you want to go one step further... give 2 of your Sporocysts the Voracious Ammunition physiology instead.  Infantry hordes will rue the day that they had to deal with that kind of withering firepower for more than a few turns.

Just pay 3 cp and some points and get several squads of sporemines to drop down before the game begins, ala Tau drones.  Just bubble wrap in several squads of mines.
