I'm curious how the special abilities for these weapons work and when they trigger, they might be potentially good against some targets but I wanted to check before I go and make a bunch of them.
So for the cutters it says you roll a D6 each time a model suffers damage from this weapon, and if you roll higher than their remaining wounds it's slain. My question is, since this weapon does D3 damage do you roll once per every damage inflicted or after it suffers all damage? Say for example you do 3 damage against something with 6 wounds do you roll once after the first damage and on a 6 it's slain, then after the second damage and on a 5+ it's slain, finally rolling after the third damage and on a 4+ it's slain? Or do you roll once after it suffers 3 wounds and on a 4+ it's slain. Because if it's once per damage it greatly increases your chance of killing a multi-wound target
As for the Drill, it says after the bearer has made all of its attacks, roll a D6 for each model that suffered damage from this weapon and on a 2+ it suffers a mortal wound, then a 3+ etc. etc. My question here is, do you apply the damage one at a time and then roll? For example you're fighting a unit with 3W each and you make all your hit and wound rolls with the drills for the unit, can you apply 1 damage then start rolling for mortals before applying the next damage? I ask because if you apply damage one at a time it makes this weapon great for chewing through multi-wound units, but if it's after all damage it's not as good as you might kill things through outright damage and the drills mortal wound effect will never activate. This one threw me off a bit as the rules say you can make attacks one at a time but the drill only activates after you have made all your attacks.
Thanks.
