London GT anyone?

I am going to London GT next week and am superexcited about that. It’ll be my first big tournament and first with ITC rules.
There is not so many Tyranid players as far as I can tell but quite a few cult. The cult is mainly 3 builds that I can see: 1.the Nanavanti, abberant and neophytes
2. the Giampapa bikerspam and
3. McKenzie acolyte, msu balanced mix.

I’ll bring a Force of the Hivemind mix of stealers and cult. We’ll see how that works out.
Whoelse from the forum will go there?

I hate it when people cookie cutter other people's armies, they're typically not good enough to do the good ones and the others are usually cruise control armies

I agree that it is not cookie cutting in most cases. The double abberrant builds are a few that looks just like Nicks but the others are a little difference between and the labelling above is more my interpretation of what I believe is the concept behind.

MacKenzie can of course speak for himself on the forum, but I took him as en example for the multipel unit builds with many different parts that I believe will strive for boardcontrol and not rely so heavy on the brute instant killing that the 20 abberants will. I can not copy the list here now but it has a little of everything useful in the codex, like you said.

ah Sneggy, our lord and saviour.

I think both Sneggy's and Nanavanti's have similar concepts behind them - the only difference is 1 Acolyte and some brood brothers go missing to fund the 2nd Abberant squad. Or at least my variant runs like that. But I like having more Acolytes since it gives us more choices on where to drop, with the FAE individual drop. I guess Nanavanti's relies on his 8" rerollable instead of securing the 7" rerollable, while mine forsakes the 2nd Patriarch for more support on each front.

I like the 60 pts reserved - I personally havent found a chance to use it due to cp starvation, but it's a nice bit of utility if you dont mind losing the cp for it.

I am going to the london GT. Will travel overseas to enjoy it.

I will be playing tyranids and allthough the codex isnt good enough in itc especially (imo) to get to the top, I am gunning for best tyranid player.

I try to keep 80 in reserve and summon on T1.  Either a magus with mind control or a kelermorph can be solid or worst case just a cheap unit to hold an objective I otherwise couldn't get on T1.

also : I have only checked the tyranids lists, but those are pretty cool and different. I have seen tyrant guards, a lot of trygons, mawlocs, maleceptors, tyrannocytes and even lictors. Offcourse most of the lists still include Hive Tyrants, genestealers and hive guard also. But at least a lot of the book is presented on the tournament, to be exact, I think the only models not included at all in any of the lists are the red terror and deathleaper.

For the previous discussion, enochia on these boards has been killing it in our tournaments (and ETC) with Kraken/Pauper Princes. He's ranked #1 in Sweden and have been for a while.

My prediction that I will face marines 5 times has started : I have to take on a couole of khans and captains on bike, librarians, multimelta attack bikes, 2 repulsor executioners, 3 invictors, 2 units eliminators and filled up with some intercessor units.

I am a little scared. If I get first turn I feel confident that I can win it. Second I will have to really make sure that those invictors dont reach my genestealers. Anyway here is hoping for a little repulsor mind control fun!
