The Lord Discordant is not the only problem, a couple of times I had to face a list with 3 Lords and 9 daemon engines, and it really was a pain in the ass!
The only reason I won was the mission. And it was a small victory...
But honesty I don't know how to handle 150 wounds on T7 with 3+/5++.

It was a really intimidating list at first, with everything being T7 and Up and I only had one unit with 4 rocksaws in it. My list was a mixed Tyranids and GSC, so I did have lots of Genestealers and psychic powers abound. It was a lot less scary in practice though, since he divided his forces and gave me a nice big clump to charge into, tie up, and just wear down with weight of attacks/Rending claws/psychic powers. I think the most frustrating part of it all was how I would almost kill something and leave it on one wound, and it would start to recover. The Contemptors recovered a few wounds, being able to with their melee capabilities some how.
Overall though, if there had been a Third discordant, but less engines? It probably would have been a bit harder, as that thing had a lot of attacks, and the 5++ really saved it a few times.
